    • Simply the census is NOT a count of citizens, it is a count of people, Citizens, and those that are not citizens, regardless of if they have a green card or not. That is what is spelled out in the constitution, a count of the number of people. If you want a count  of only citizens then the constitution authorizing the count has to be changed, or make another law for a separate count.
    • President Trump tried to get that done for the 2020 census.  He was unable to overcome the democrat resistance.  I hope it happens this time.  Not only should illegals be stopped from voting, they should not be counted for representation.  They DO NOT belong here!
    • The Mack L Model pumper was nice and that Crown Firecoach in action was awesome!
    • The Republicans have had to file a lawsuit to prohibit the U.S. Census Bureau from counting people who are in the U.S. illegally during the 2030 census. Why should they even have to do that? Doesn't it go without saying? Immigrant rights groups say “That unlawful request would distort representation for millions of Americans and shake the foundations of our representative democracy. What? The Republicans are only talking about illegal immigrants (not Americans) who shouldn't be on U.S. soil to begin with. The census would apply to legal immigrants.
    • I have a couple of questions about these compressors though since my one is in fact not completely assembled at the moment. 1st - what is the torque for the conn rod bolts? I measured it when loosened the rods in the new compressor but the bolts had something looking as a thread lock on the threads so unscrew could be harder than the specs. And should I use any Locktight or other thread lock compound there? I know that wouldn't hurt the deal but better to learn what is prescribed by the manufacturer. And the 2nd. I probably have count the matter but still have a little bit of doubts. I tied to figure out the way the connecting rods oriented. Sure marked all the parts and the old compressor had the rods with the markings (part#) to the drive end (up front). But that NOS one had one rod to the front and another to the rear. And I'm sure nobody opened it before me and the parts were std which meant factory assembly. Also pistons had no arrows pointing any direction for the fittment. So overall it looked like Bendix saw no matter on which way to install pistons and rods. I put them as they were in my original compressor - same way up front. But if anybody may confirm or argue my guess I would like to hear the suggestions.
    • It turned out a bit more attractive about its look when it had before the rebuild. The mechanical part was not perfect too. Cylinders had rusty caves but what seemed more troubleful was one of the connecting rods having cap bolt holes modyfied (drilled through for a bolt with nut). I could live with a repaired rod but it also had a small crack near the repair. What I definitely didn't want was a broken rod in a compressor somewhere in a middle of a highway. Tried to locate an alu conn rod for Tu-Flo 700 but had almost no luck. Checked out other possibilities and found a NOS compressor locally. Actually that was 700 km from my place but at least in the same country. The compressor had different fittment being a Cummins or Detroit version so I couldn't use it complete nor all of its parts. Good thing the block was found the same so I took it together with pistons and rods avoiding the need of boring the cylinders. Crankshaft was shorter than needed at the drive end so I had to use the original one. Micro caliper shoved minimal to zero wear and that was good. But the size was the 1st repair already so I bought new bearing shells for it. That NOS one was std, of no use there. I also bought a PAI repair set but mostly for gaskets.

This is the current condition of my 47 EE project. The rebuilt EN271 is out and we are in the process of checking the fit of a big block Ford. It is the same truck that’s in my thumbnail photo taken a few years ago. I have managed to acquire all the new rubber cab seals and many are installed. I have a painless harness as well.

That engine and trans are on a pallet and probably weigh around 900. I believe the clutch is new and the trans was gone through.
Louisiana is a fair distance from the middle of Washington!
That said, all the cab rubber body parts had to come from Massachusetts and it took over 3 grand for all the window, door, cowel, fender and more pieces to get everything. I found some parts back east but they are not cheap.

      - I double sticked and old Mack to feed a stone crusher in 12 and 14 hour shifts six days a week all summer to pay for my chemistry degree.
      - Because I wanted to sleep for 1 min and 26 seconds each trip out of the quarry at the crusher's vibratory dump box at the top the quarry during those 12 hour shifts, I bulled the old MACK up long 20 degree and sometimes steeper grades.
      - THAT meant that I split each gear 1, 2, 3 after coming out of boggy low.
      - All I did was rev to the right engine note, reach my left arm down through the steering wheel to hold the curve I was on or hold the truck's path steady; slip out of 1st, throw the 2nd stick high into low and slip into 2nd gear... rev to the right engine pitch, slip to high.
      - Then when it was time, reach through the wheel again, slip high to low and 2nd to 3rd {if I correctly remember 60 years ago}.
      - The Igneous rocks were too heavy and the grade too steep for me to ever get into 3rd high.
      - The crusher team were the mechanics for everything and had replaced the old Mack's tranny gears because they had been ground too much. - - They later told me they didn't believe me when I told them I slipped all my shifts because the gears showed no wear.
      - Except for start and stop; Not once did I use the clutch because that made my leg ache too much after an hour or so.
      - I slipped all my standard 4 speed shift vehicles all my life...just to be with the music of the engine and car or truck.

      - I hardly ever change disc pads or brake shoes because I always slipped my gears downshifting...
_ I learned that because the synchro rings got shot on my 1968 Volvo 122S 2-Door 4-Speed with an electric overdrive because I stupidly speed shifted and ruined them. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1968-volvo-122s-17/
      - [Note: That Volvo's original owner was a Canadian Submarine Captain who rallied it and that is why it had Volvo's unique electric overdrive.]

      - {I clear coated over the bone white with Cadillac Firemist Green and painted the grills Black because they were dented...gosh it was stunning.}
