      Some progress today: And then.... Tadaaaa. I picked up a 5 gal pail of 50w gear oil for the transmission.  I need to plug off the cooler fittings before filling as I don't know if that won't just puke everything back out.  I am going to just loop the two lines for current operation.  I don't think I need a cooler.  Maybe I will look into a small alum cooler and mount on the frame down in the air just for the shitzandgiggles of it. I received the steering column yoke and.....it was packaged wrong and is not correct.  The eBay seller promptly refunded my money.  I got lucky and found one in a truck parts warehouse in Tn and should see it early next week.  Once that fits, I can get box mounted and work towards getting it connected to the column. I am feeling good today.

      When wandering about the Mack Muster yesterday I found my mind wandering about and dreaming of a truck like this  I would imagine it would be worth considerably more than the 6 grand offered if it was running and driving about I wonder if someone close go by can get it running without to much drama, a lot greater chance of it surviving off into the future if it runs and drives   Paul

      Brocky I was stunned to observe that Brockway cab, although at first gland is a R model Mack cab, it really is very different  The cowls different, the roof is different and the list of things I noticed different in a few minutes was quite a bit Sure is a good looking truck and thanks for the photo above    Paul

      Aussie Paul, Thank you for taking the time to post all of these excellent pictures. As Irish Paul stated: I wish I could have been there. Thank you for the pictures of Ed Edminston's 761 Brockway. I worked for Dick Crispell, who built that truck, in the summer of 1963 and last saw it in 1989 when I had dropped my trailer at his shop to go to my fathers memorial service. Here is a picture of it in front of his shop that day when it still had the 12V71 in it. He was just back from a show and the blue 1949 Brockway 100 series on the trailer was his wrecker when I worked for him.

      When I was visiting Tim and family in Connticuit there was a place maybe half a dozen houses up the street that had hundreds of tonka type of toys in a tree in the front yard, no idea why they were there,I asked Tim about it and he didn't seem to know either Good job Joey  Yellow is always pretty hard to get to cover properly as is red  Now to get it into the sand pit    Paul

      I'm guessing, well over a 100 Macks  The E9 tank motor sounded pretty good  They, the company there, have a line of the motors, all less than 400 hours from the tanks They have a conversion kit to reposition the turbos so it fits into a Australian Superliner  Would make quite a impressive truck, 750 hp under the bonnet  Dunno how the Maxitorque box would handle the extra power, even with E9 turned up the 12 speed boxes struggled a bit on roadtrain work Paul

      This is the current condition of my 47 EE project. The rebuilt EN271 is out and we are in the process of checking the fit of a big block Ford. It is the same truck that’s in my thumbnail photo taken a few years ago. I have managed to acquire all the new rubber cab seals and many are installed. I have a painless harness as well. 

      That engine and trans are on a pallet and probably weigh around 900. I believe the clutch is new and the trans was gone through. 
      Louisiana is a fair distance from the middle of Washington!
      That said, all the cab rubber body parts had to come from Massachusetts and it took over 3 grand for all the window, door, cowel, fender and more pieces to get everything. I found some parts back east but they are not cheap.

      - I double sticked and old Mack to feed a stone crusher in 12 and 14 hour shifts six days a week all summer to pay for my chemistry degree.
      - Because I wanted to sleep for 1 min and 26 seconds each trip out of the quarry at the crusher's vibratory dump box at the top the quarry during those 12 hour shifts, I bulled the old MACK up long 20 degree and sometimes steeper grades.
      - THAT meant that I split each gear 1, 2, 3 after coming out of boggy low.
      - All I did was rev to the right engine note, reach my left arm down through the steering wheel to hold the curve I was on or hold the truck's path steady; slip out of 1st, throw the 2nd stick high into low and slip into 2nd gear... rev to the right engine pitch, slip to high.
      - Then when it was time, reach through the wheel again, slip high to low and 2nd to 3rd {if I correctly remember 60 years ago}.
      - The Igneous rocks were too heavy and the grade too steep for me to ever get into 3rd high.
      - The crusher team were the mechanics for everything and had replaced the old Mack's tranny gears because they had been ground too much. - - They later told me they didn't believe me when I told them I slipped all my shifts because the gears showed no wear.
      - Except for start and stop; Not once did I use the clutch because that made my leg ache too much after an hour or so.
      - I slipped all my standard 4 speed shift vehicles all my life...just to be with the music of the engine and car or truck.

      - I hardly ever change disc pads or brake shoes because I always slipped my gears downshifting...
      _ I learned that because the synchro rings got shot on my 1968 Volvo 122S 2-Door 4-Speed with an electric overdrive because I stupidly speed shifted and ruined them. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1968-volvo-122s-17/
      - [Note: That Volvo's original owner was a Canadian Submarine Captain who rallied it and that is why it had Volvo's unique electric overdrive.]
       
      - {I clear coated over the bone white with Cadillac Firemist Green and painted the grills Black because they were dented...gosh it was stunning.}
