Barry we quite often us the PAI Site to cross reference parts as the dumbass Volvo program is really Quite inadequate at finding older parts or most parts for that matter ! Just sayin

So I would like to hear at what RPM you are achieving your max boost ,and how long it holds on to it before the EGT's start to climb Or it starts to fall on its face! ( curious!)

I'm not a big fan of the single pin design! I hesitated to respond to this post as what I had to say was not usefull to your issue ! how ever I will say it anyway ! in my mind This design is a danger to the motoring public You can't be sure it is totally locked ! The original adjuster out the front design FW 3500 is a far superior unit Safety wise If that adjuster is in the wheel is locked period ! With the single pin jaw Its a crap shoot!We sold several of these units when they first came out and eventually went back to the 3500 due to the hit and miss nature of the lock design of the XA2009 ! I know this doesn't help you as you already spent the dollars Trying to save a buck ! Sorry But just an opinion!

Lot of extra work In my mind you have to convert to 5 inch exhaust and you may or may not achieve your goal ! Are you sure you have no boost leaks? Pressure test your charge air system make sure your not loosing pressure to a leak! You should do this even if you do the swap!

If you think it’s pinging it maybe the tone wheel hs slipped inside the fuel pump the probe on the side of the fuel pump Reads off it.

We brought in a superliner with a KT 525 under the hood once,( early to mid 80's) only one I have ever seen or know of ! It was close to being over weight on the front axle empty! Kinda dumbass I thought at the time ,when the V8 was the right engine for the truck!

If you go that route buy new ! The warranty is important! M drives are working ok,! How ever when they break they ain't cheap to fix! As the prior post shows! Also They aren't as idiot proof as one may think! Guys still have to learn how to drive them! you CAN'T DRIVE THEM LIKE A CAR ! Clutches wear that sort of thing ! That is not warranty and to do a clutch job is 6-10 grand cause you got to buy a flywheel and clutch actuator it your wise!

Sounds to me you didn't have the push tube seated in the cup on the lifter! I have had this happen before but got lucky not breaking anything!

HA HA! Depends on how you look at competitive! Volvo as you know knows how to Gouge! And seem hell bent on ruining the Mack lineup! Not supporting the dealers of the mack line so our pricing is crappy on most stuff! If we deal with donaldson as with everyone else the more we buy the better the deal! Being small and being a Mack only dealer with only 3 stores the playing field is NOT Level.However We hold a decent market share in our area Truck sales wise Probably 70 percent! We still do not receive the Pricing on parts that I think We should , this maybe an internal issue however I'm not in the loop on the parts buying !Volvo people seem to be able to sell the Same part For the Same engine or Like Part for cheaper ! I have customers Bitch to me all the time about the parts pricing ! Can't control it! I am of the mind the Volvo/ Mack people should be out there working on the dealers behalf at getting THE BEST pricing on Parts for ALL the dealers !Mack Or Volvo! so they can give the customer the best bang for the buck! Seems to be some Favoritism going on ?????????????

Yup good find for sure ! egr valves don't seem to throw up codes we had one a few years back stuck closed from the get go had all sorts of other egr related issues ! Very few issues with the valve it self usually input issues! 1
