  1. yes 15 to 30 20 is perfect!
  2. Thank you for posting your fix ! well done!
  3. yup btdt ! I had that truck almost lifted before the liners started to move with that method😅! in this case it obviously won't be helpful!
  4. Maybe a bit! 🤔 my thought is that puller is meant for wet liners if you got time make your own! Even 500 is to much to spend on a job you’re doing once! Just my two bits!
  5. Quite honestly there are lots of ways around this even a peice of thick flat bar ground to the shape of the liner two tabs to align it a hole in the centre for some 3/4 Redi rod a spreader bar at top and on two wooden blocks at the top as was said run what you brung there’s always a way!hunt around you will find something! Just got to use your noodle!
  6. If you know any one with a lathe a guy could knock one out in an hour or so a piece of 5/8 plate chuck it up and start cutting! If you got a bud or even your own! just sayin
  7. Older maxidyn 325 v8 was governed at 2600 i beleive kinda scary !
  8. I believe the tang has a dowel pin to if I remember right! It will only go in in one spot!
  9. Joey this engine may be old enough to have the tang drive ! Not the spline!
  10. Yup they can be nasty!
  11. I think I read somewhere on some pumps you had to set with the throttle lever in the full position but not positive on this that’s a possibility of both of our issues as I described with the v8 fight there! Long as your engine sounds happy and you’re happy with it is all that matters! 🙄
  12. Good news Floater I’m glad you tried it! Another trick in the hand book! Descent find!👍
  13. Odviously things are done differently down under! Paul! Couldn’t get 650 v8 here ever I would like to have seen one! With a vmac pump! Very interesting! We were able to at one point order the cam and turbo here through the Mack system we did two trucks up with the Aus turbo and cam with the pump jacked up they pulled like know body’s business!
  14. And the garbage pex clamps!🙄
  15. Me thinks just different fueling! Comes down to gearing again Need gears for the 300 plus!285 not so much!
  16. RIP 🙏to him Joey ! Bless some of these guys we worked under ! Grumpy or not For their knowledge! Best we can do is pass it on here! What goes around comes around! Grumpy is sometimes a good way to learn shit ! Sometimes there’s a reason! The biggest takeaway is PAY Attention ! None of this is written in books!
  17. Mack would sometimes do one journal I was taught to always look! Mains and rods ! On a v8 they sometimes they would mark the caps main or rod M 2.
  18. all good bro ! It’s a possibility! Not sure what tools he has but you can put pressure on the charge air on the compressor side and if you have the engine winder turn the engine by hand till you find the spot where the boost will build on the guage you may be able to pick this out with the water trick! I’ve only ever done it once on the red engine used to do it all the time on the gray engine! I’m like you I’m a gray guy in more ways than one!😂
  19. Yup p number is important they can start as low as p2 up to p30 check em as up pull them look at the numbers! For sure good call Mark! Rods as well ! Eyes pealed for this part number then p2/10/20 and so on!
  20. The groove needs to be at least 5 thou or better! I prefer deeper! Just me!
  21. is there any evidence of anti freeze in that tube!?if there is it may be effecting things!
  22. Check the fire ring grooves on the heads ! This will be important on re assembly!
  23. Inlet manifold! Let’s chase the sound first bro! Doubt the boost sensor for sound Joey no offence please! I know we’re both trying to help! Water at every gasket and joint even the egr cooler and tubing!
  24. Also are you thowing any other codes?
