  1. My self I would install an 18 sp fuller more selection is in my mind always best regardless of engine band width ! More choices! That said if you already got that trans then its up to you! Also In my area the 18 is more widely available!
  2. Great Minds Joey!
  3. I like the shim stuck to the liner on install less chance of it getting dragged into the bore on install seen that happen as well! bead of scone on ledge and liner as Joey mentoined! again I been away from this for a bit but some things do stick around in my knogin !🙄
  4. Joey or Heniz would know the shim the shim sizes available ! 2 thou increments Rings a bell for me But havent been there for a few years! You should clock the liners as you pull them and put them back in the same local if your going to try this!
  5. You could try re retorque after a few heat cycles ( Crap shoot ) other than that you got to pull liners check for cracks and shim ! on the cheap a guy could scuff the liners and reuse! Done that ! Mack made us do this under Warranty once and NOT SCUFF the liners It worked oK but I prefer to scuf! just my opinion!
  6. You want to be as Joey said 25 or better specially on high HP engines !! On the first E7 engines the spec was set low and it caused issues like this! I believe the low spec back then was 19 ! Had one that kept blowing rads up and popping water filters! odiously the filler cap was haywire too However! After the second water filter you have to dive in and figure out what the issue really is!
  7. Yup good question should be a straight shot to the pan thru the block there is it not! Last time I checked Gravity is still working ! Unless it was just air locked! If that draft vent was clogged! Hummmmm!
  8. I am quite confused about this post any how I Probably should just observe! 🙏
  9. Joey what ever link you posted Aint workin!
  10. the sludge indicates water or coolant! If you in a damp climate this could be an indication your running cold! How ever you got other symptoms! if your going to keep running it take an oil sample ASAP! if its just water not a great deal! But if its coolant Big DEAL ! Also this could be a Turbo issue I have seen these pressure up the Base before! Just saying!
  11. They have a long list white GMC Autocar Mack and so on! This whole thing too way longer than I expected How ever It is now complete! I had hoped Scania would have taken it over we would still have a V8!
  12. I’m still trying to understand how he came to needing an engine! From a compressor??????
  13. the shaft is install backwards to what I'm use to???
  14. THE EVIL EMPIRE! 😅
  15. Don't be afraid to put some brakes on while driving it hard ! Road dyno it ! Put boost gauge and pyro in and drive by them!
  16. No that got asimilated by Volvo Borg as well! James!
  17. I would personally run it for a bit before getting carried away! Get the engine in the truck and work it hard the best you can I understand its a toy but you don't want to baby a new set of liners and rings You need to warm it to operating temp then and work its ass for the first bit preferably loaded! Nothing ruins a rebuild faster than idling to long! Just sayin!
  18. on a Shepperd there is a also a weep hole on the cover ! you can tap it out 1/8 pipe tap and put a plug there it would hurt any thing ! If that's where the oil is coming from!
  19. You should be ok with the oiling in my estimation ! have you tried the jakes? that will tell the tail if enough oil is getting up there! push the solnoid down see if they fire off!
  20. The Volvo borg! U have be a simalated ! The transition is complete!💩
  21. youtube fixing fifth gen cummins biggest weak point - Google Search Some innovative ways to install with out removing the pan! and the totally stupid shit Cummins has done going backwards with some design features !
