  2. Vents are a point of neglect! When a guy is servicing (Checking diff trans levels) it should be part of his ritual to check em! unfortunately Very few do !
  3. the wiring is shit on these ! It being soaked in oil and heat adds to its shittyness! Also look for oil push at engine ecu plug The sump sensor is also chronic ! The base engine is good aside from cups ! the bolt on stuff is debatable
  4. can you identify the fuel pump for us! Robert bosch or ABAC?
  5. this maybe a short or damaged wire to injector harness? Yes It can be also caused by injector cups and pin connections ! The only way to find out is too ! pull the valve cover and check !

  7. my self I would try to replace the 4 bottom corner ones! Just because! of the experience's!
  8. re use! Same as the e9 these tended to break on the bottom outside corners! We would mark these on removal and replace or use inner on the the outer! If I remember right they are fine thread! My opinion!

  11. This was a fairly common issue with the 865/66 Back in the day ! Head gaskets and broken head bolts also!
  12. I would get a boost gauge! That said! Another question! At what Rpm does it pull best at in the other gears? A 427 has a flatter wider torque than other power options and that my have been the mind set on the trans option! My self regardless of ledged power out put I would always chose more gears if I was ordering a truck ! I know this doesn't answer your question But its just my two bits worth! The lower gearing may also be key also ! Best you ban do watch what you have if your not trailing smoke and the pyro is happy drive it!

  16. I’m not sure on this but at one point they had a bobtail valve on some tractor apps . T when the trailer emergency was not in use it would cut the brake pleasure in half under light application! Just a thought! To test it cap off the emergency and charge the button! If the brakes are improved the you have your answer!

  19. I'm happy to see you are not a parts cannon supporter my self! I wonder if maybe the turbo is is not sticking! if it can't go full stroke it maybe seeing there is not enough air to function correctly! ??maybe pull the servo and check the sweep and lever for being sticky!
  20. I’m not very familiar with these and getting more distanced I’m fortunate to be retired from this up and coming mess!just throwing stuff up I had heard around the shop! Also was there not a check valve down stream that was troublesome?

  22. Yup best breakin bar none! Start out slow get it up to temp and work it hard! The more weight involved the better! Avoid idle warmup! The bigger the bang in the cylinders the better the seat! You won’t be disappointed if you work it!
