  1. Yup what he said!
  2. 53 litres in that pan bro !
  3. Joey ! Very possible you could try! How ever they hardly ever fail in my experience the bearings I mentioned are more common to fail! You quite welcome to give it a try! Another common leak is the low shift rail seal above the input shaft there!
  4. You got to split the trans leave it alone! You’re going to have to build a special tool if you want to try removing it in the case! That bearing is usually pressed on apart ! Some Movement is normal there it’s a ball bearing! just saying if it doesn’t look pitted inside race don’t be bothered! Thous rarely fail ! Common failures are the two upper back ones and the pocket bearing you can’t see mid case on the main shaft!
  5. Bro ! you need to provide us with the engine your working on ! 300 350 400 ! Valves set inlet 16 and 24 exhast on most every Mack engine! jakes are set by model number ! Provide us with some info!
  6. Thanks for the heads up Joey ! ! Try to shed so light ! The aforementioned orings are highly suspect! If it has plastic line check them also any thing with that oring with a squeeze nut on it also suspect the primer it self has to seal properly as well!anything on the drain side of the pump before the check valve on the right rear corner of the pump! Needs to be checked! Happy hunting Mechohaulic! 😂😇
  7. Use the firing order valve set marks at on the flywheel thru the peek hole on the bottom of the engine housing!
  8. Well I’m sorry the pump didn’t correct this! Also I’m wondering if you’re vehicle ecu is at fault here or the plug were it enters the cab! Like Joey mentioned check the wires! Bulk head plug as well on the firewall!
  9. Heinz if you came to me and told me you needed the job done out of warranty! You would be given the choice of which part required replacing and the possible implications of not doing said items and let the customer decide! If if I hated the guy I would allow him some grace! Most times!😇as for the valve cover gasket that’s an ass cover deal and that could also be in his court ! just sayin
  10. Do even replace the Valve cover gasket? 600 bucks for two wine corks Pretty pricey bandaid! For a mistake on the engineering side! Something that should have been a recall! Much like the bull gear feasco! If it doesn’t break before warranty is up don’t fix it!Volvo trash!
  11. Yup you could be putting 2000 in you’re jeans buddy ! Or you can go home with a clear conscience! you chose right!
  12. Pot calling the kettle black buddy! Just sayin!😇 Hint also if you want a little more just remove the drain T and stretch the spring! Thou 15 plus is adequate for almost any horsepower engine below 350!
  13. yes 15 to 30 20 is perfect!
  14. Thank you for posting your fix ! well done!
  15. yup btdt ! I had that truck almost lifted before the liners started to move with that method😅! in this case it obviously won't be helpful!
  16. Maybe a bit! 🤔 my thought is that puller is meant for wet liners if you got time make your own! Even 500 is to much to spend on a job you’re doing once! Just my two bits!
  17. Quite honestly there are lots of ways around this even a peice of thick flat bar ground to the shape of the liner two tabs to align it a hole in the centre for some 3/4 Redi rod a spreader bar at top and on two wooden blocks at the top as was said run what you brung there’s always a way!hunt around you will find something! Just got to use your noodle!
  18. If you know any one with a lathe a guy could knock one out in an hour or so a piece of 5/8 plate chuck it up and start cutting! If you got a bud or even your own! just sayin
  19. Older maxidyn 325 v8 was governed at 2600 i beleive kinda scary !
  20. I believe the tang has a dowel pin to if I remember right! It will only go in in one spot!
  21. Joey this engine may be old enough to have the tang drive ! Not the spline!
  22. Yup they can be nasty!
  23. I think I read somewhere on some pumps you had to set with the throttle lever in the full position but not positive on this that’s a possibility of both of our issues as I described with the v8 fight there! Long as your engine sounds happy and you’re happy with it is all that matters! 🙄
  24. Good news Floater I’m glad you tried it! Another trick in the hand book! Descent find!👍
  25. Odviously things are done differently down under! Paul! Couldn’t get 650 v8 here ever I would like to have seen one! With a vmac pump! Very interesting! We were able to at one point order the cam and turbo here through the Mack system we did two trucks up with the Aus turbo and cam with the pump jacked up they pulled like know body’s business!
