  5. What HE SAID! I am feeling every trans and drive line and main bolt I have ever torqued every day! Every joint hurts ! I think it lowers the motivation some what !You Got to just over look iT If you want to get stuff done ! Ignore it and power thru! 4hrs at a real slow pace is about all I can tolerate these days! Count ourselves lucky were still able to do this stuff! Could be alot worse!
  6. So investigate this! On startup turn the key on observe the pistion on the VGT ! Is the vgt doing its self check? Is it going full stroke ? If it does not stroke out both directions it may be that the vanes are sticking and not allowing the turbo to regulate properly!
  7. I struggle with motivation these days got lots of ideas but getting motivated to do them is two different things! Unless it has to be done it probably won’t get done!

  11. Have you checked for combustion in fuel?
  12. I would be checking for fuel pressure ! If your not getting any smoke ! Also don't recall if there is a fuel temp sensor on this year! Located on the return elbow! at the block on some!
  13. I believe the spring load thing came about with ceramic lifters don't quote me on it just my vague memory on it !
  14. My self I like to test the whole system! we had a cork for the turbo end of the charge air with a regulator and gauge on it! Put shop air to it! And turn the engine by hand till boost builds on the intake system ! this lets you test the whole works intake and charge air!
  15. No need for 40 psi even ! if its leakin you'll hear it !
  16. You can also use propane at idle there is no boost! And some vacuum!run a unlit torch around the charge air edges and welds! The rpm will rise if your in the area of a crack!
  17. You could try installing the cal codes !
  18. You can’t rule out a bad injector ! If it’s not throwing a code! just saying!
  19. Check you air cleaner as well black smoke under load indicates lack of air black smoke on takeoff is normal but it should clear! If you’re turbo has a bluish tinge to it also indicates not enough air! All stuff to look for when troubleshooting!
  20. Check all your grounds!
  21. It should be tight! It looks similar on the inside with nuts you may need to remove the valve cover and tighten everything up! be careful not to over tighten and create a short!
