  2. Top REAR engine mount rubbers removed the trans should clear the x member shift cyl on!

Just my opinion the CL is the easiest truck to work on if the truck has no pto ! take the trans out stand it on end and Take it apart that way! also if this trans has Cummins in front of it the job gets more complicated the tail shaft bearings have to be set in the press! And there may be an extra spacer you'll need to buy from mack to set the preload! You could wait for days for the plate to do a job in the truck once on the ground you don’t need the plate. The spacer you may need was updated from a crush sleeve to a solid unit of varying to be determined thicknesses! Also if your determined to do this yourself ,Price your parts thru PAI quite a bit cheaper than Mack stuff and as good quality! As for the shift cyl I would leave it alone the seals in that a quite durable unlike the range clutch! 😒nuf said!😁 again an opinion!
  4. Is there a check engine light on the dash? Could be the econovance has failed the little ( box in front of the fuel pump) you can tri put 12V to it see if the issue clears it up! the solenoid could be weak on this !causing this issue!
  5. Just A note to Tech's literature here !His last pic shows the actuator pin side view ! The little mushroom end had a a tendency to break from time to time you should always check these when setting the valves and jakes replace the screw if broken and good luck finding the broken bits! 😒
  6. No but it sounds like the turbo maybe sticking! Replacing the actuator will not help if the cone / vanes are sticking inside the turbo usually the turbo needs replacing !
  7. Have you changed any parts do you have tech tool check the fuel pressure! 7th injector Can causes issues!
  8. So I'm going to throu this out there, If you have a mack trans and you a missing approx half your boost check the torque limit switch at the rear of the trans! if it malfunctions the Vecu will derate with no code as it does not see any malfunction !IT Thinks everything's is AOK!
  9. Agreed! This man called a spade a spade ! Its unfortunate , the commanders and chiefs have their blinders on top to bottom in this instance the evidence is was before them and they failed to act ! This disease is like an avalanche picking up speed as it travels down the hill!

  11. The wiring should be there even there they are usually tagged the other thing that will have to be done is enable the engine brake function in the vmac software!
  12. We just did one of these same deal ! Very possible it was not pressed off correctly but who’s to say! Also just over the warranty period! We had never seen one before either up to that point! No telling how many times the cam gear has been pushed on or off either! ME Personally ! Not a big fan of this design Rather have bolted on gear like the early stuff! Just sayin!

  17. To add to what Has been said here ! I have seen the ABS modulators sticK and hold just a tad bit of air in the line and not through code! check this is not happening just crack the air line loose on the side its pulling to!
  18. Worth a try in my mind Your headed in the direction of removing the head anyway! pull the manifold and set the engine with the exhaust valves open and give it a shot in my mind its worth a Go! You got NOTHIN to loose Just sayin

  20. If the history is unknown on this engine You should change out your rocker bolts if you haven't already! DON'T TRUST THEM! Its and un written rule at our place to replace these if we don't have history of replacement ! had a few bad experiences!
  21. E6 Is is standard thread I believe! The e7 lines are metric! You pretty much need the fuel line set up from a donor engine! vmac lines are totally different guess you could disable the syncro vance and leave it in place! Don't know never tryed this!

  23. Good call! also make sure your hood boot is sealing on the hood this will throw a 270 code!
  24. Hopefully there solution for you is working good and maybe if they lurk here they may find the solution for your old truck in this post!
