  1. Ha ha I’m stoked now ! love that idea but remember you thought of it ! I ll send their hit men after you if I get caught 😂 He told me to do it. No worry’s thou Revenue will be way down by that time they wouldn’t be able to afford. A hitman.🤔
  2. Possible! was the pump redone?
  3. Yup guess all the manufactures have their crosses to bare ! that said ! Get tired of Us looking like fools or being blamed for faulty installs bla bla bla! We have been experimenting with simply torquing ,see how it goes This bullshit torquing backing it off tightening it twice shit ain't workin. After all tightening it and loosening it is hardly different than using the bolt over in my mind !( I stand corrected if it can be logically explained! ) so if they ain't going to fix it! we are forced as usual to try find a better solution! For the sake of trying to save face ! All a steer can do is try! Or Keep doing the same thing over and over ! Definition of crazy ! / Forced obsessive compulsive disorder! defiantly job security How ever there is no shortage of work! with all the other dollar store bits and pieces they use to build the rest of the truck with!
  4. Finally s Finally someone thinking what we’re thinking!!
  5. Ah! my mistake So In my opinion you should be looking into an injector with bad or low cracking pressure or a valve hanging up! check your valve set first! does the engine have much blow by?
  6. Yup we just did another set the other day 6 months in checked the torque while removing them( mid to low 30's on the bolt coming out) I'm sure the tech followed the torque procedure in his mind it was correct ! I could be wrong but These bolts should have seen at least 50-60 ft pounds coming out! Quite honestly Its a piss poor way to hold the injectors down to start with and to add to the already compromised situation the bolt is in my opinion Maxed out for its size and for what engineering is asking it to do .That is why they have all these torquing procedures that may or may not be helping the situation to start with trying to get by with a design flaw that that should have been addressed years ago! they have us applying magic paste then not applying the paste And so on !Bla bla FIX the f*cking thing! These engines has decent potential if not for the flaws they seem to be unwilling to redesign! JUST KEEP Patchin!
  7. Yup I agree haven't ever seen much improvement on the smoke issue advancing the timing unless it was it was a retarded blu colored smoke ! in this case he claims to be getting black smoke in which case if the smoke don't clear up with 38 psi boost something else is a miss!I However I believe if I'm reading this right the idea is to get a quicker spool and still keep that nice boost out put!
  8. You may be correct however. In my mind the software assumes you’ve set your base timing correct so you set it 3-4 advance it would be adding. to the twenty or so it adds when the econovance operates I could be wrong but in my mind it works in that fashion!🤔
  9. Fooling v Mack ! You could try tweaking your base timing two or three degrees and see how it is that will advance you to 24-25 under a pull , ,changing to the mechanical pump means a total line swap ect
  10. How is your fuel pressure? if it is starting ok I would check this first
  11. Money maybe ! Cheaper to exit passenger side! also you live in a land where you drive on the wrong side of the road 😂 that may also have some bearing on it!
  12. Please describe what Procedure and tooling issues are you speaking of Bud I'm interested in your incite here!
  13. So have any of You guys that have been seeing repeat failures on cups and injectors been trying anything different to hold the dam things in? Don't want to start any wars here how ever the installation procedure could be part of our issue?? just fishing for some thoughts here!
  14. also unsure how ever 38 psi on a 350 is quite high average boost on a Stock 350 Might see 30 psi 38 psi I would expect to see on a 454- 427
  15. Never had to worry about this with the afore mentioned method as nothing was connected other than throttle lever
  16. Glen 400 psi sounds a little low how ever it does make some sense the pressure would have to be lower than the injectors cracking pressure! Tech ,That said the guy with the failed piston likely had a bad injector to add to the advanced timing issue, we once had an engine come to the shop pump installed by the owner and all 8 pistons were burned up by a ill timed pump! On The Timing subject , I have used the remove the delivery valve method with a little different twist ,for years and it never failed me once !The method I was taught as follows ! remove #1 Delivery spring and needle valve reassemble hold down nut to pump , remove the inlet fuel line to pump make up a #6 one ended fuel line to fit on to the inlet Set the engine on the suggested timing mark Loosen the pump slot bolts leaving the top one snug on install loosen that snugged bolt after the pump is on and simply blow thru the hose you installed on the inlet and turn the pump till you can't blow or just see the tiniest amount of bubbles at the #1 line connection on the pump and simply lock it off at that point! Then test your set by turning the engine back a 1/4 turn and move back to the prescribed timing mark! 12 -24 degs depending on the model and year! It's fun to see everyone's different methods of getting it done !😁 The above method is best used when installing a new or reman pump as everything is off anyway and can be done with out getting fuel allover the place or just hooking up minimal lines!
  17. It takes aprox 2500-3000 psi to lift the valves off there seats ! I highly doubt it would be worth buying a pump and finding one cheap enough to do this job once not worth your while! Your better removing the delivery valve and blo timing it! we have the tool at work Its a nuisance to assemble and use Much faster to blow time! just saying!
  18. Pretty tough to beat a meritor diff From what I seen!
  19. Check the mico switch on fuel pump these tend to get glitchy after years of operation!
  20. I to Am interested in the make year of the dozer I have a similar looking unit in my back yard a 47 Oliver The trans noise you have was a common complaint and normal for them trannys nothing to sweat over !
  21. Take note if this happens after a hard days work! if so you may have a injector cup issue! Is fine to replace injectors however if the cups are pitted you are wasting injectors they need to mate properly!
  22. E7 ? Left Side near starter ! V8 right side bottom! flwheel housing
