Seen at the 2014 Macungie ATCA show.  Pictures of the engine survived a storage disc failure but picture of the whole truck didn't.  Nice that V8 engines are good to look at!

One of the downsides of a big v8 is that all the plumbing and wiring gets tossed on top of the engine. Mack just put it in the easiest place I guess.

Most legendary engine ever! I just laugh when you read the specs on paper.....500 h.p. and 1660 ft-lb of torque.

 

Well I can tell you, my new 505/1850 motor won't go up our 12% grades at 140,000 pounds in high range on the 18 speed like the old 500 V8 did, LOL

Got this Superliner E9 down here in Phoenix that will change what you heard real quick. LOL

1150hp to the ground in it's prime. It is turned down a bit now from its sled pulling days, still sought for sure. 

A lot of the, fuel, A/C, power steering, etc, lines on top of these E9's can be rerouted to clean up the look.

I have driven a couple that were "slugs" from factory. And a used one that had California emissions. But it only took a guy that knew how to tune them to make them into monsters.

I was just thinking the other day when I hooked it to my low deck and loaded the LTH logger (heavy) and the Pete 390 also heavy. I weighed in the low 70's and I went up the Siskiyou mountain doing a steady 65-70...could have done even more in it but a few of the bends I definitely sucked up the seat!!! That truck had unreal power! You could wind it up to 4000rpms and it sounded like a sewing machine. I am not sure if the firing order was modified on that or not??

I have bought parts from Gene Osborne to do my next E9 for an Ultraliner. Think your Aussie E9 was in there for rebuild at the time. Non-Dynatard cam and rockers. Had cam reground at CamCraft to Steve Travetz Spec's (same builder of the engine in Superliner). It will be a Monster, Twin 106mm turbos, 14mm pump, etc. with a HT754CR Allison trans for fast shifting. Sorry my projects take a little more time than your Beautiful stuff but it will happen. Just got my shop re-done to actually work in. 

I like your E9 engine photo Osborne knows his stuff. Engine next to the Frig, So is that any indication of what's for Lunch or just a snack? Cummins, Cat, Detroit?

Thanks, It has been a process and years to get together. I finally want to retire and work (play) in a shop I always wanted.

Hasn't been that way until now. Had the building for 10 years, just bare floors, no paint or A/C. Full of a lot of useless stuff from 3 businesses, 4 houses and other people. Restored and project trucks and cars. Figured I would never get to work on the stuff I wanted the way it was and now in the process of clearing it out. Making it the way I want and saying NO to storing peoples stuff (or wife's treasures} for free any more. Now have enough space for a huge shop and a 50 car climate controlled storage business. All A/C, Insulated, LED lite, epoxy floor and CLEAN. Even bought a Tennant floor scrubber.

Triple stack storage lifts, more to come.

Those triple stack lifts are not cheap, they are over three time the cost of a standard four post lift

Yes they cost that but will be payed off in 10 months storing three cars. It is space utilization just have to go vertical to get it. Whole cost of building with all the improvements will be paid off in less than 5 years. The old saying, "it takes money to make money". I am tired of working my ass off. Now I'm going to let the storage space make money and collect a check every month. Great collateral, if the storage is not paid, most cars to be stored are valued well over $200K around here.

Yes he and his entire family are the best!! We agreed that this year he was coming out to Plymouth and the Brooks show with me. Hopefully the Brooks show will not be cancelled since it is late August but we will see! You may know this but Mike has suffered from cancer on just about every part of his body and he keeps on defeating it...………..amazing and unreal.
