Jamkar 5 Posted July 1, 2018 Did they build they're own cabins, or is it from another manufacturer? Looks familiar but I'm not sure.
Hobert62 1,214 Posted July 1, 2018 I don't know if the built their own or not, but when you start looking at one you can pick out a lot of similarities with other brands. The same with their conventionals.
41chevy 9,815 Posted July 1, 2018 (edited) The cab on my Marmon 57P seems to share the basics with the I.H. Paystar cabs, mainly windshield, cowl and doors except liberal use of Duralium on many panels. The COEs were in house design til the end. My 1989 was bought new by my grandfather for potato transport to Hunts Market. Marmon like the Pacific Trucks were all hand assembled to the owners specific specs. Drive trains are the same as any other unit and only as good as any other, but what it sits in and what goes around it is high quality. There is 1979 that shows up at the Marmon Home Coming every year powered by a MACK V8 supposedly spec'd that way. My 1989 is still as quiet and rattle free as the day my grandfather and I picked it up in Denton. Edited July 1, 2018 by 41chevy

I was told that when I was working on a guys cabover back in the 70's From Wickerpedia: In 1963, after Marmon-Herrington, the successor to the Marmon Motor Car Company, ceased truck production, a new company, Marmon Motor Company of Denton, Texas, purchased and revived the Marmon brand to build and sell premium truck designs that Marmon-Herrington had been planning. The Marmon truck was a low-production, handmade truck sometimes dubbed the Rolls-Royce of trucks.[citation needed] An overcrowded American truck industry and the lack of a nationwide sales network led to the eventual failure of Marmon trucks in the USA. The last Marmon was made in 1997, and the production facilities in Garland, Texas, were taken over by Navistar’s Paystar division.
ws721 336 Posted July 5, 2018 We have 2 Marmon COE's. I claim that the engineers at Marmon didn't own a protractor, just a Square. Cab is almost perfectly square. Im the 2nd owner of a 74. Man said his Dad ordered the truck then went to Texas to tour the plant. Has air ride suspension, air slide 5th wheel, power R.H. window, Roof mount A.C., 350 Cummins with a 13 speed. Quite a truck for 1974 IMO 4

It was owned by Buddy Sombart and I do not know where it went after his death.
HeavyGunner 2,096 Posted July 6, 2018 Oof that is an ugly truck. A farmer has a later model conventional model in my area and it looks good. A lot like a. W900 or. 379 in a lot of ways.
