  1. Mike Do are doing better. If you are going to use the clutch, DOUBLE CLUTCH on every shift of either transmission!! When shifting both you actually have to triple clutch.. Watch your left foot in your video.. When you shift without remembering to double clutch is when you are getting the grinds.. If you have any other vehicles with a manual tranny always consuisly double clutch them also so that your left foot/leg just learns do it automatically.. There is basically no difference between the Tri and Quads as you do not use lo-lo for other than off road.
  2. Thanks!! I just wish I had your "Eye" for getting them framed and angled right.. You are a much better photographer!! Hopefully we can meet up at Macungie this year and have a cup of coffee, or go across the street for something cooler and wetter?
  3. Have used both PS and Howes, also had good luck with PFFP.. In the good old days we could add up to 25 - 40% kerosene!! I have mixed a lot of it bulk in one hole trailers for Agway in upstate NY..
  4. Jim He sure does!!! We spent all day there and still did not have time enough to look at everything real close.. He has imported a lot of trucks from the States as well as having a lot of Aussie vehicles. There may be some more here or different pictures here than what I posted on BMT. http://forums.justoldtrucks.com/84264/Down-Under-Trip Brocky

  6. Jim Where did you get the picture of the one with black fenders??? It looks like it was taken in Tony Champions shop, But the one in his display building is all red.. and does not have the amber fog lights like your one at Macungie??
  7. Since Maint1 who started this topic works for the Keystone Museum in Colonial Heights (Richmond) VA I would assume it is going there..
  8. As long as it is full of product when we catch up with you at Des Moines!!
  9. Paul I think (???) Howe Coleman in Troy / Albany was just a conversion company and the axles them selves were made in Colorado Here is a link to a lot of Coleman info: http://forums.justoldtrucks.com/22610/Coleman-Trucks
  10. Mr KS. This photo of the Howe Coleman conversion brings up the question. When did Mack discontinue making their own driven steering axle and go to the outside conversion equipment?? Thanks, Brocky
  11. Sorta made the R model roll back "squat" a little??? Good luck getting it all put together.. will look forward to some progress pictures.
  12. Me either!! Although they must service them.. I remember back about 1970 when Roadway still had open top trailers we picked up a bare block (V-12 or 16??) at ALCO in Auburn NY and it weighed 28,000 pounds!!!
  13. I am thinking Hemmings had an article on him in Classic Car magazine just recently..
  14. Here is another picture of a Mack Howe Coleman 6X6 from The Howe picture library courtesy of Craig Trout.. and his comments about the Mack / Coleman connection here. http://forums.justoldtrucks.com/22610/Coleman-Trucks?PageIndex=27 Brocky

  17. Like PZ said, I would leave it the original tanker it was built for!! It is always nice to see trucks at shows still in their working clothes.

  19. Dave I missed you also.. Hope you are feeling better and our prayers continue for Suzie.. Brocky
  20. With the broken windows, How bad is the rust inside the cowl??? If it is pretty well shot it would mean one whole lot of work to repair..
  21. Yeah, That is my ugly puss!!! My buddy Leon next to me.. Probably saw you but did not recognize.. Did you go here to check out all 9 pages of the Aussie trip?? http://forums.justoldtrucks.com/84264/Down-Under-Trip Brocky
  22. Tom You saw me, But I did not see you... I am the tall guy with the light blue shirt in the picture tagged Willys Jeep. Was talking about our Australian Trip. Brocky
  23. According to our South Carolina DPS Transport Police (diesel cops) Man, you can do the "Excepted" deal and not need a physical.. If you want to go back to driving for hire all you have to do is get a physical and send in another form to change it back. I know laws and regulations vary from state to state so it is best to check with some one in the "diesel cop" department rather than the DMV and find out what they say>>
  24. Thanks .. will put it on the list>>
  25. Thanks for the info.. How long were you there?? I will have to make plans during the ATCA Vintage Trucks of FLA show on Feb 18th to 20th.. Thanks Brocky
