I like your idea of upgrading the pintle hitch area.. Will you need to add air glad hands?? You will probably have to attach your light bar / mud flap hangers to the end of the frame.. That Goose neck ball looks a little far back for good weight distribution???

I just noticed in your update pictures that this truck is Left Hand Drive.. Is Ireland that much different from England??? If not, will you have legal problems operating a LHD vehicle??? I think Australia has some rules about having to change it to RHD or sum such BS???? Maybe Mrs Mack Paul can correct me!!!

Running unregistered vehicles on the street reminds me of the ATHS National Show in Colorado Springs CO...The host hotel, and meetings, was about 2 blocks from the Arena where the show was held and some of the restaurants were in a strip mall across the street from the hotel.. Golf Carts EVERYWHERE!!!!! I guess the the Police Dept decided it was not worth trying to corral 1000 retired truck drivers on rental golf carts!!!

Geoff, I think(??) I understand that the Constitution was written to protect the rights of people who are American Citizens.. BUT< BUT how does someone who ILLEGALLY entered this country have any rights??????? It seems that there are a group of politicians in our Congress that DO NOT believe in the Constitution and at the very least be voted out of office. I guess that the voting Americans and the courts will eventually decide.. I HOPE!!!!!

In about 1970 I had a negative ground AM radio out of something mounted in a wooden box that I could tarp strap to the tool box, in place of a passenger seat, in one of Matlack's positive ground R models.

He must be a "Youngin" as air starters have been around a long time!!!! I remember in the mid 60's while collage a B Model parked at the library loading dock, with a lot of foot traffic around it, hit his air starter. I think the echo of girls screaming was even louder!!!

NOW we are totally off topic!!!! Bob, Now at age 80, I am glad we did our traveling while we were still in the late 60's and early 70's.. Health problems have caught up with us!!!! Granted I had to steal some out of our 401/IRA's to do it, BUT it was money well spent.. Including 6 days in Hawaii on the way home, the Aussie trip was in ball park figures $25k for the two of us. It could probably be done cheaper and more interesting with a rental car, regular motels, and eating in local pubs rather than the air fare, fancy hotels / restaurants and bus/tourist tours we were on. The travel agent was the daughter of ATHS past president John Vanatta so she has connections in the antique truck hobby as well as she attends a lot of the American National shows.. In 2013(??) we drove to the ATHS national show in Yakima WA and made a slight detour on the way home by way of Fairbanks AK!! That trip was 6 weeks and 15k miles on the ground not counting the inland waterway ferry from Bellingham WA to Haines AK. Totally self guided for about $12k..

Save your pennies, and plan a trip to Australia!!!!!!!!! Tony Champion in Rockhampton QLD has probably the biggest Mack collection, BUT there are enough other Museums and private collectors Down Under to make the trip worthwhile.. Pick a year that ends in a 0 or a 5 as that is when they hold the BIG Truckies Reunion of over 1000 trucks in Alice Springs NT.. I was able to participate in the 2015 ATHS Down Under Tour, it was a once in a lifetime experience!!!! PM me and I can give you the email address of a travel agent who knows of them and the antique / historical truck hobby..

Harry, Thank You!!! These are the rims I mentioned earlier.. How well did the chrome stand up versus paint???? I do NOT remember any of them up here in the States?? Bur we went to polished aluminum Budd's a lot sooner..

Then your clutch brake is working... It's only purpose it to stop the transmission input shaft from turning so you can engage a gear from clutch engaged neutral without any grinding.
