  1. With that padded seat in the chair, DO NOT fall asleep!!!!!
  2. My parents had a 39 Chevy business coupe, NO back seat.. I can remember standing up in back behind the seat looking over their shoulders..
  3. There was a while I had to go thru Postimage.com (afreebe site)to get mine to post
  4. I drove a 78 Frtlnr with a big cam one 350 in it. The owner only used the local tap water plus anti freeze init with no water filter.. Had an overheating problem pulling hills. That water with NO additives had eaten the fins right off the water pump. In the process he also learned his cause of cracked liners!!!
  5. I like them on the floor also, BUT they like to fill with dirt and water to corrode them out of service..
  6. To Everybody:::: That is why it is so important to list your location, at least the state, in your profile!! That is why I sent Brad to Iowa 80 to ask questions..
  7. My 1949 Diamond T model 201 one ton pick up was done entirely by a restorer and it cost me about $65K.. Plus the original price of the truck and transportation to and from the shop in Amarillo TX..
  8. My condolences to the Manchester family.. I have seen their trucks at both Cortland NY and Macungie PA.
  9. As Dean said above, ANY restoration is very labor intensive!!!! With restoration shops getting big buck$ per hour!! How much of the work can you / your family do yourselves????? What are your mechanical and/or body skills???? Do you have a facility to work in??? Does your family want a showroom perfect restoration or just a very showable truck??? Take a bunch of pictures (post them here!) and visit the Iowa 80 museum in Walcott IA and ask a bunch of questions.. They will also know of vendors in your general area to do individual parts of the restoration: Engine, Brakes, interior, and paint.. IF you can do a lot of the work, there is a LOT of help and information on this forum. With no pictures it is hard to guesstimate how much it would cost, BUT for a top showroom restoration, entirely by an outside shop, I am guessing off the top of my head, the price would be well in excess of $100K!!! The bottom line is your ability's and checkbook VS your family's wants!!!!!!!!!
  10. Paul is in Queensland which is north of NSW, so is probably sitting on the back porch with a beer!!!
  11. Our hurricane season is just starting.. We just set a record of 40 consecutive days of heat in excess of 90 F degrees. UGH!!!!! Had a bad gully washer for about 15 minutes on Thursday and has cooled down into the 70's F..
  12. Genuine Rebel cooking!!!! I do not like the "steamed" ones either.. especially when they are still whole, you can not even cut them..
  13. My 1955 Ford F-600 has those left hand threads on the left side..
  14. Dean, I found it when I was going thru some old albums looking for Georgia Macks for the new thread.. Wasn't there a member on here from Georgia by the name od Shawn Carlson??? I think he had some Macks???
  15. Being based out of Gastonia NC they probably got their start servicing the Tobacco and Furniture industries???
  16. Here is one taken at the West GA chapter show, Roopville GA, in 2020.. A good little show to attend on US 27 about half way between I-20 and I-85.. This year on Saturday October 18th..
  17. Over the years Randall has taken that truck to many National shows.. I almost think(?????) he has been to California or Reno with it???
  18. On my last encounter with them they had a nest in the ground by the guy wire on the light pole.. Poured a good splash of gas in the hole and followed it with a lit farmer match.. WHOOSH!! NO MORE Yellow Jackets!!!
  19. DO NOT get those Yellow Jackets mad at you!!! They will chase you all the way back in the house... Ask me how I know!!!
  20. Even an old drop deck???? Or you are in logging country so maybe someone has an old beaver tail equipment trailer with ramps they have replaced with a larger trailer????
  21. Possibly one time use tools can be sold to others in a similar situation on forums such as BMT and others to repay yourself for your use????
  22. Tommy I love that big green truck that runs now!!! I like the two tone job you did on it.. If I were you I would sell the GMC, especially now that you have the sleeper off it has enough wheel base to make a flatbed or roll back for somebody..
  23. Start Listing the Jimmy in various locations.. That would make a neat roll back to haul stuff to shows..
  24. United?? But I think it was a brighter yellow???
  25. A lot the same here.. Was driving a Freightliner COE daily pulling a tanker.. One morning the boss put me in one of his Autocar conventionals pulling a dump trailer. On the narrow 2 lane road out of the quarry everybody coming at me was yelling "Get Over" as I was taking my half out of the middle!!!
