    SWIFT!

I Had the same experience on old US 60 coming East out of Charleston W VA back before 64 was built.. Double Diamond and Dirty W and some others pileing up behind me as I had a nose/top heavy dry bulk trailer.

    SWIFT!

Dave But you pulled over and let traffic pass.. I presume the Swift driver did NOT!!
  4. Just cut off everything south of I-84, let it drift out to sea and SINK!!! Would cure a lot of problems!!
  5. Definately an IH "Compfovision" cab, but with that long hood it could also be a Hendrickson or a Diamond T / REO, or an FWD??
  6. Thanks Barry!! And a nice booth at York also!!
  7. 68 F model: On the Interstate they stick to scale and rest areas where they have room to deadline trucks.. On the back roads it will depend on how active your state boys are?? and where they have the room to park and inspect trucks. Might be worth it to wait til next week!! Paul: In SC on anything with less than a 7500 pound Mfgr unladen weight we can use farm plates for "general and ordinary purposes"..Further than that you must be on farm usage. I have been to Fairbanks Alaska and back with my farm plated F-250. and my neighbor pulls a gooseneck hitch bull wagon to Missouri and back with his Dodge Ram 5500 all the time.
  8. Joe Thanks for the research and update.. Will see you later this week.. Have your fenders loaded, leaving 0500 tomorrow.
  9. Ken Matlack went out of business by a combo of deregulation and poor management, and possibily a break up of the Rollins family. They were owned by the Rollins family from Delaware. The family also owned Rollins Leasing which was sold to Penske, and the Dover DE race track. The Majority of Matlack equipment and customers went to Superior Carriers. Dana also took one of Matlack's large southern lease operators and expanded their operation nationwide. James: In 1974 the CEO, CFO, and a couple of other Matlack top officers took their year end bonus and bought Quality Carriers of Bristol Wisc, and expanded it into chemicals and I believe it is still the same company which now has Tampa FL as an address on the doors.
  10. Mark Was that Matlack picture taken in Sweedsboro NJ??? I do not remember any Matlack tractors with blck fenders either? I think it is just the way the shadow falls on them?? No aiar starters either?? The 2 white dots behind the fuel tank in the first one are pump outlets and the black square in the last one is a PTO driven compressor for blowing off liquid loads.
  11. A 55 with M-H 4X4 conversion.. What is all the front bumper?? Brush protection for off road???
  12. That Pepsi decal really brings home the blue paint job.. Looks great!!
  13. Ken Thanks for the call and info.. Will keep my eyes open for another post for Barry's Location.. Hope to meet ya'll there.
  14. Is anyone planning on Taking BMT group photo at York???? The Just Old Trucks one is scheduled for 9 AM Saturday at Eddie's vendor booth. Is Watts going to have there Mack Booth there???
  15. Dave, Lookin' Great!! Will look forward to seeing the CF truck.. If only you could find one to the CF "Suicide Doubles", as they only ran between Akron and York..
  16. The B looks great... Sharp looking roll back too!!!
  17. You can find a station which sells ethanol free gas here.. just click on your states initals http://pure-gas.org/ Brocky
  18. Did you fall in love with the Freightshaker and want it back????
  19. Another off the wall thought.. Is there a blockage in the cooling system that is not letting enough water back to the #6 hole??? I remember that the old straight 8 Buicks in Flxible busses would burn #8 if you worked it too hard for too long..
  20. I have full coverage on my trucks thru State Farm also.. No problems as my agent also does a lot of commercial and farm vehicle work. My 55 Ford F-600 only has a declared value of $5000 and it went thru on pictures only, BUT my 1949 Diamond T 201 pick up has a declared value of $65,000 and that took a letter from an approved appraiser as well as the pictures. A lot of the guys pulling a trailer, with other equipment on them, have gone to Gulfway in Hudson FL as they will insure the trailer also. Do a search on here as this topic has been hashed out before.. Post us some pictures Brocky
  21. Will get there Wed afternoon, but me be not early enough to unload and park. Staying at the Econolodge
  22. Vinny I drove around there after Cortland last year. It sure has grown up into the cow pasture out back.. Do not know about now, but back then several of us from the Ithaca area went there for either Auto Tech or Ag Engineering.
  23. VInny Are you planning on going to school at Morrisville Ag & Tech?? Good place.. I grad from there in 1964..
  24. Is that $500 on top of the normal destination charge?? If it is then a refund of the dest chg and another $500 should pay for your plane ticket and expenses?? As far as customs goes the same broker who gets it thru for the transporter should get it thru for the owner???
