  1. I bet if Volvo had bought Western Star they would be gone by now.
  2. Look at some of the big fleets that can't kill their CH's. Yellow(ABF hand me downs),NEMF,UPS etc. As long as these CH's are around parts should be as well. There are a lot of fleets turning in some CH's ABF,NEMF,Yellow, Duie Pyle that can be had for 5-8000 dollars. That's a lot of cheap parts.
  3. With a woman like that who needs a hydraulic jack?
  4. That would look good in a Mack heavy haul CHN or Granite. Scania V8 would be even better.
  5. Some die cast toy company is introducing a model of the blue Overdop F model. I think it is a foreign toy company.
  6. Looks like an old southeastern freight lines truck with frame extension.
  7. Why hasn't Volvo dumped Mack yet like they did White, GMC, Autocar ? What seems to be their end game? Daimler promotes American icons like Freightliner and Western Star and Detroit. They keep the Daimler ego in the background.
  8. Where are the Mack engineers such as Dave McKenna who used to post on the Mack website and Mack 3P who used to post on here. Miss their inputs.
  9. Probably not a lot sold because they were heavy compared to Paccars
  10. PIE had a few western F models also
  11. What was the last year/years of the Mack mechanical engines.
  12. Timmy: That kind of sums up the difference between the Mack/ Volvo relationship and Western Star/ Freightliner. Daimler doesn't care if Western Star intrudes on Freightliner IMHO.
  13. I can see Western Star killing off Mack in North America-unfortunately. Diamler has deep pockets and they are innovative. They have their own engines, transmissions and they run Western Star like Volvo should run Mack.
  14. Makes sense. Keep Ram for the pickup and Dodge for the big boy. I could see this cutting into Mack's regional hall.
  15. DS -Good information. Let us know if there are any positive changes.
  16. Australian Mack COE in the cards? They had two if I remember when Renault ran the show. Might be a good time to ship the Superliner or Trident over to North America.
  17. Agree good looking truck. Would look good with Mack or Scania across the front.
  18. Like you say certainly not hard to do. I think not offering a superliner like product in the USA speaks volumes about Volvos commitment to Mack. Volvo wants Mack to be a little sister. Volvo doesn't care about Mack competing with the other truck manufacturers. They just don't want Mack competing with Volvo. It would be nice if Volvo pulled out of the North America and just pushed the Mack brand.
  19. One wrench stroke at a time gets the job done.
  20. I don't believe they built the MP 10 or D16 at Hagerstown but in Sweden, however like log trucker says what is the big deal on shipping them to the US as they do to Australia. It would be a dealer part item (special order).
