  1. Tom1361, did you figure something out on this? I have a FA511 axle on my H67; I found an NOS Moog 8482b kit on ebay that crosses to Mack 301SQ32AC (I wonder if it's supposed to be 301SQ32C). It says "catalog shows these correct for FA45, FA401, FA501, FA511, FA400 and FA500 axles". The pins in the kit measure 7-3/8" long by 1-1/4" and 1-1/2" diameter. As you can see in the photo, they have roller bearings but no seals. I'm not going to do my kingpins right now but I wanted to have these on hand in case I need to. If these pins sound right for your axle, you could watch for a Moog kit to come up for sale.
  2. If it has an 8" crack, it doesn't seem like a good idea to overhaul. I would start with a good block.
  3. Sorry to all you Marmon fans, but that is one of the ugliest trucks ever built.

    New t shirt

I taught all 3 of my sons to drive on manual...I wouldn't let them drive an automatic until they could drive a stick. I am constantly amazed at all the people I meet in the US that can't drive a stick.
  5. AZB, is the Cobra body fiberglass? Is it chrome? It sure looks like it.
  6. Does that say E9-1200? Does it really have 1200 hp?
  7. That McDonough truck has a sleeper so it makes the cab larger in the back.
  8. My middle son is 25 years old, when we want to watch a dvd he grabs the 3 Stooges. He thinks they are hilarious!
  9. I saw one at the truck show in Newark Ohio last year, I think it was mostly for show...milled and polished really nice. Not so much for just an everyday work truck.
  10. A 77 CL wouldn't have a 2 speed rear, would it? Could it be for antilock brakes?
  11. Those are some Macks you don't see in the US.
  12. No, you were facing your computer the wrong way when you looked at them.

There's a Large on ebay right now, but the iron-on looks kinda crackly. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mack-Truck-Shirt-Trucker-Semi-Vintage-large-black/223024750746?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160727114228%26meid%3Dade113c323d8461a8181211cdf90f6af%26pid%3D100290%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D153059645699%26itm%3D223024750746&_trksid=p2060778.c100290.m3507
  14. I knew Aussie truckers were some tough guys, but stopping without brakes tops the list!!
  15. 8 metric tons = 17,600 lbs. I think that's on the heavy side; my H67 single axle with 673 weighs 10,000. I'd say that LJ is somewhere close to mine or Hobert's B model.
  16. That is really a nice-looking truck!
  17. Black is good except for when you're out in the hot sun.
  18. Also make sure your thermostat is good and the water pump is circulating correctly.
  19. Maybe if the signs were posted on their smartphones they'd see them.
  20. For those who need software to resize your photos, I like Irfanview. It's free to download and easy to use. When you open a photo, you can click 'ctrl + r' and then select a new size (I use 1920 x 1440 pixels, makes about a 600kb file size). Then hit 'ctrl + s' to save and select a new name for the file or just hit enter to replace the old photo with the new size.
  21. Yes, I rebuilt a lot of air fuel ratio units on 3406 Cats back in the 90s, that was pretty much the extent of the emission controls on them. Quick, easy rebuild and back on the road you go.
  22. Okay, well I don't know if it was a great idea to have the thing blasted...there was a boat load of bondo that you couldn't see and now there's a lot of daylight! I dropped it off at the body shop this morning, I'm afraid to see what the bill is going to be.
