  1. Stretching its legs a little! What motor do you think it has?
  2. You're right about not living there...it's beautiful country but give me the green hills of Ohio any day. I lived in Las Cruces for a year in the late 70s and enjoyed it but very glad to be back home. Lots of rust free vehicles out there! Great pictures, ed!
  3. I'd hate to see what it would cost to paint a fire truck all red...plus there would be a lot of work involved to cover the yellow.
  4. Any idea what model this fits? https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-CHROME-MACK-TRUCK-BULL-DOG-HOOD-ORNAMENT-BASE-ONLY-HOOD-MOUNT/132816957200?hash=item1eec81ef10:g:0jgAAOSwDOpbwBm3
  5. Talent, as well as lots of parts and tools. (just kidding, Freightrain!!)
  6. That's a high front bumper! Also the cast iron horseshoe in front of the motor looks like a motor mount, that's pretty high as well. Interesting how some things on those old trucks are very different from modern trucks, but other things are very similar.
  7. That's a sharp-looking Freightliner.
  8. Since the turbo spins so fast it would be more sensitive to dirt & debris in the oil. Maybe they wanted a little insurance for those turbo bearings.
  9. So they made the B-755 with both cab styles? Is one earlier, one later? AZB, that is a beautiful truck...I really like the blue.
  10. You see people raving about how young people these days are such great dancers...then you see this video, or Donald O'Connor on Singin' in the Rain and those folks were amazing dancers.
  11. How would you like to be in that sleeper when the driver falls asleep and lays it over?
  12. I drain PS systems by pulling the lowest hose and letting it drain out there.
  13. The Olentangy Trail near Spring Street was closed for several hours Thursday after a semi driver drove onto the pedestrian-bike trail and struck two bridges before becoming wedged under the second one. Columbus police cited the driver for reckless operation and failure to follow a traffic control device in the 9 a.m. incident. The semi’s driver, whom a police spokesperson could not identify later because paperwork was not available, exited the northbound lanes of Route 315 onto Spring Street, only to realize he made a mistake, police at the scene said. Police said the driver told investigators he mistook the smaller Olentangy Trail for an entrance ramp back onto Route 315 northbound, drove north on the trail and his trailer became trapped under the Interstate 670 overpass. The driver, who isn’t from central Ohio, was headed to the Greater Columbus Convention Center in downtown Columbus. Officers redirected bicycle riders on the trail while they cleared the truck from the path. The contents of the trailer attached to the semi were removed and the trailer was eventually hauled off of the trail by a tow truck around 1:30 p.m. An Ohio Department of Transportation inspection crew was on the scene to assess the damage to the bridge, spokeswoman Breanna Badanes said. pcooley@dispatch.com @PatrickACooley
  14. Really nice truck. Is that the same cab they used on the White WC?
  15. We rode the steam train in Conway in about 8 or 9 years ago...really neat little town. We had coal soot on our clothes when we got off the train.
  16. B model on a Mid Liner chassis...interesting. Looks like they did a nice job on the conversion. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1959-Mack-B61-Dump-Truck/163279365958?hash=item2604356746
  17. Those are some stout guys there...I couldn't do half of the work they do. Did you see the boards they were slicing off those logs? They were 5 feet wide!!
  18. Nice! You gotta post more pictures, we want to see details!
  19. If the two green pads are the same color, they should change one so it's easy to tell which one is which.
  20. You got that right...in the 70's my dad had a lot of his trucks retrofitted with maxis and I remember one instance where the valves & hoses didn't get hooked up just right. I was with him on a trip through Kentucky, we stopped at a truck stop with a definite slope to the parking lot. We got out and started walking up the hill when this older man who was sweeping the garage floor said, "Mister, your truck is rolling away". We took off running but it gathered speed (it was rolling backwards) and the trailer swung around, thankfully the landing gear lined up with the fuel tank and when it hit that it stopped (big dent in the tank of course). That's one of those scenes that I'll never forget.
