  1. Here's a question for the community...I've recently talked to two guys who say that NOS parts can be aftermarket. My understanding has always been that they are OEM parts only. I also read a column on Hemmings that said factory parts (not aftermarket). What is your take on this?
  2. I know what you mean about the 3 hours...thankfully everything went smoothly this year and they got to the big trucks in 2-1/2 hours. I don't know what the situation is with Brockasaurus.
  3. Sounds like some really good folks there.
  4. That is one sharp looking truck, and I love the twin smoke trails!
  5. Thank you! My wife gets the credit; she's a semi-pro photographer.
  6. We went to the Hartford Fair pulls on Sunday night; a very nicely done show. The first R model is Kendra (Rodgers) Dauer; it has a Cat engine and she landed only 10' from 1st place. The second R model is her sister Sondra Rodgers and her truck has a Mack engine. The Superliner has a KT Cummins engine; the next truck, a Chevy, is a very strong puller. The purple Pete has the motor out of Brockasaurus; we were sad the Brockway wasn't there but the Pete won the event. I hope Brockasaurus returns because I really like the truck and it's a crowd favorite.
  7. And I'll bet a lot of heat coming up from the radiator and engine since your feet are almost touching them.
  8. That truck has some very serious rust issues. If you're good at cutting out and welding in new metal, you could handle the job. It's been sitting for many years so it's going to need a lot of mechanical work also.
  9. That really is a sharp-looking rig. You're going to get a lot of thumbs up on that trip!
  10. Pictures will definitely help sell it.
  11. I only had experience with one 903. The company I worked for had one that broke the crank; they sent it to Cummins for major overhaul. A couple of years later it broke that crank too, so they sold the truck.
  12. Actually air bags are very important...they keep a lot of lawyers rolling in the money!!
  13. I have no idea how to check the timing on a Mack engine, but I was talking to an older mechanic in Oklahoma one time and he said to watch the fan blades spinning as you turn the distributor. If they appear to spin smoothly your timing is real close, but if they look erratic then it's off. I've never tried this so he may have been full of it.
  14. You won't be moving an M1 tank very fast with a 3208.
  15. I'll have to go in Thursday and get one of those Big Mac coins. https://triblive.com/lifestyles/fooddrink/13918349-74/mcdonalds-maccoins-will-be-good-for-free-big-macs
  16. Both of those trucks look great with the chrome rims, but that B is super great!
  17. That rain story stinks! I was in Apalachicola FL in May and had some blackened Cobia one night...it was fantastic.
  18. Have you done the dowel holes on a flywheel housing before? Can I just use a reamer with a jig to hold it square?
  19. Believe me, there's a lot of us that learn when someone asks questions like these.
  20. I did find a place called Dowels Pins & Shafts in Florida that has them but they have a minimum order of 50 at $5.52 each so I didn't want to spend $275 for 2 dowels.
  21. If you go to Google Images and type in 1950 Mack, you could see if any of the photos match your truck. If they don't, change the year to older or newer years and see what looks like yours. Then you can click on the "visit" button and there may be info on the model number and so on. Or, you could post a pic on here and see if we can help.
  22. The rust is slowly claiming this Brockway...it's really a shame. https://zanesville.craigslist.org/cto/d/1971-brockway-n4571-coe-mack/6650058080.html
