  1. This is a beautiful truck...$65k is a lot but you couldn't build one for that. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1341161086966188/?ref=browse_tab&referral_code=marketplace_top_picks&referral_story_type=top_picks
  2. "Too many projects"...sounds like an American!
  3. I prefer the look of my truck without rear fenders, but like Bob says if you drive very far you'll end up with chips in the paint. I guess it's better to look at fenders than paint damage.
  4. I worked at a Cat dealer in Miami in the early 80's, we'd get 3208s in a lot of Louisville Fords as well as a lot of miscellaneous trucks and construction/ag equipment. I don't recall seeing any Macks with that engine. We heard good things from our customers compared to some of the other small diesels that were available then. Blue Bird put them in buses and RVs, we got a few of those in. One weak point was the 2-ring piston, saw a lot of those burning oil and needing a rebuild.
  5. This appears to be a really rust-free truck, even the double frame looks clean. If you had a motor to put in it, could be a nice truck. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1016595880007848/?ref=browse_tab&referral_code=marketplace_top_picks&referral_story_type=top_picks
  6. Do you have Amazon Prime? Lots of free movies on there, that's where I watched this one.
  7. Have you tried to find a new one? I've seen a lot of aftermarket torque rods out there.`
  8. Last night I watched Georgia Peaches (also called Follow That Car); it's on Amazon video right now. It starred a (gorgeous) 22 year old Tanya Tucker and Olivia Nunn (sang Take My Breath Away on Top Gun). Dirk Benedict drove a nice-looking R model on it, the motor sounded funny--maybe it's a Scania. There were a few other old trucks on it, but not many. The best part was getting to hear Tanya sing.
  9. It may have cost 200k to build, but that doesn't mean you can get your money back when selling.
  10. If it was just sitting there idling when it shut down and now everything's locked up, maybe the input shaft in the trans locked up. Or maybe like you say they don't have the maxis released and the engine's seized.
  11. Yes, A lot of them get froze up with rust. Mine took a lot of cleaning and oil to free up.
  12. The Watts website used to have shutterstats and actuators on there, they may still have them.
  13. I remember the old timers used to use vinegar to remove rust in the cooling system, but I don't know the ratio to use with water.
  14. Those have to be painted steel, I've never seen an aluminum Dayton rim.
  15. I figured I could probably replace the spring but the valve/seat is worn so I went ahead and replaced it.
  16. I’ve been fighting a starting issue since I got this truck back together in 2023, of course I only drive it about 6 times a year so I haven’t pushed too hard to fix it. It would start easily but then run out of fuel and I would have to crank it for a few seconds to get it going again. Also the hand primer wouldn’t pick up fuel unless I poured fuel in the inlet line. I went through the fuel lines, check valves, and replaced the hand primer. Then a couple of weeks ago I was reading what other guys did to fix theirs, and one guy on here (now I can’t find the post) said the overflow valve would cause this problem. That is the return tee at the back of the injection pump. I never had any experience with those; I looked at my old fuel system repair manual and it said that valve could cause issues with starting and low power. The spec on mine is 15 psi; I tested it and it held less than 10 psi. The one for the 673 is 697GC15, but that is NLA. The number for the E6 is 697GC123 and it’s the same configuration (1/4 x 1/4 x 1/8 NPT) so I bought one from PAI (no. 801090, $100). I tested the new one and it holds 20 psi. I installed it and now the truck starts and runs correctly. It’s frustrating to dink around with something for so long but I’m glad it’s fixed!
  17. Looks like you have a lot of work to do but keep with it and it will be a nice truck.
  18. My H67 doesn't have any tranny mounts, that's the factory setup.

I think he added one too many zeroes. I wonder if the ratchet strap holding the sleeper on comes with it? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1136868254904067/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A02a9e9c5-94cf-4f72-93c8-be0ad566562b
  20. Found this pic on the interweb, would they use this in truck driver school? 😉
  21. Found on Facebook--$500 and not very rusty. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/613283311500355/?ref=browse_tab&referral_code=marketplace_general&referral_story_type=general&tracking={"qid"%3A"-250280660094383479"%2C"mf_story_key"%3A"6145237117257297340"%2C"top_level_post_id"%3A"6145237117257297340"%2C"commerce_rank_obj"%3A"{\"target_id\"%3A6145237117257297340%2C\"target_type\"%3A6%2C\"primary_position\"%3A8%2C\"ranking_signature\"%3A4992237805707172412%2C\"commerce_channel\"%3A501%2C\"value\"%3A0.00043171385602967%2C\"upsell_type\"%3A3523%2C\"candidate_retrieval_source_map\"%3A{\"25297733569912644\"%3A3528%2C\"9523595094365609\"%3A3001%2C\"23983949287860260\"%3A3528%2C\"8490111297741128\"%3A3001%2C\"9557736740954907\"%3A3565}%2C\"grouping_info\"%3Anull}"%2C"lightning_feed_qid"%3A"-250285332916101524"%2C"lightning_feed_ranking_signature"%3A"4992237805707172412"}
  22. Everyone who looks at these says there's no equivalent size, you have to buy 12:00x24. https://budgettrucktires.com/products/12-00r24-bridgestone-g-580-super-drive-all-position-tt?variant=45357800980634&country=US&currency=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIqc2C9bfSiwMV3EL_AR0mtwYUEAQYASABEgLTLfD_BwE
