I hope someone saves that cab--it would be cool to find out it's one of the turbine trucks.

Here's some info from a guy on here named fifth wheel, looks like it's been a few years since he was on the site. LT- Just about an all steel truck, early production units had a different front rear spring hangars and frame arrangment in that area compared to the later units. 1947-53, production 415 units, all 3 axle (sw's) LTL Same as the later LT's with a lot of aluminum components, (engine mounts,front spring brackets,belly band,frt.cab mounts,radiator support cross members, steps and battery boxes,steering column,trunnion support,wheel hubs,brake spiders,brake shoes,air tanks,axle stops, auxilary trans case, and wheels.) 1950-56, production 1216 units 3 axle 130 units 2 axle (designated LTLT) LTH Same as LTL except some or most of the structural suspension parts were replaced with steel (spring hangars,trunion supports, and brake brake spiders) 1953-56 production 248 units, all 3 axle (sw's) Total production 2009 units All models have aluminum hoods and radiator support sides.

You could try soaking the pedal and the spool under it with PBlaster or Kroil and see if it frees up. I had my treadle valve (foot brake) rebuilt by Precision Rebuilders ( https://precisionrebuilders.com/ ) for $200.

Very interesting looking vehicle, and those LeTourneau trains are some incredible machines.

I'm glad to see you're using tube-type tires, do folks in Ireland still run a lot of those? They're pretty rare here in the US.

If you have an old style battery terminal remover that works well on the acorn nut type arm.

Can you pull the brass insert out? I wonder if the tach gear in the fuel pump drive is stripped.

+1 on Geoff Weeks' comments. Fuel pressure will definitely cause this, could be a line like has been mentioned or could be the overflow valve (return tee on the top of the pump, if it's worn you won't get enough pressure).

At 28 years, I would consider this a classic. It may not fit the usual description of a classic Mack, but I like to see different trucks like this.

I have an EPP-3586 on my truck, but if I remember correctly the threads were more coarse than the one in his photo. I think it also has an o-ring boss.

I dug this kit out of my storage shed the other day, it belonged to my grandfather. If you can read the fusees, it says "Jan 1961" and this kit has obviously never been used. I'm going to clean it up and put it in my Mack since it's period correct (1959) but I'm going to dispose of the flares since they're flammable. I was in Fostoria Ohio in 1978 when the Railroad Fuse plant exploded; it lifted me off the floor even though I was a couple blocks away from the factory. It knocked houses off their foundations.

I sure like those chrome daytons...you don't see those very often!
