If you're talking about Northern California wanting to split off from Southern California you are mistaken. I have family who live on the California Oregon border and the gyst of it is Northern California is tired of getting out voted and has unreasonable laws passed by Southern California. Can't say I blame them. Southern Californians are some of the biggest hypocrites as a whole in my opinion. They want to stop or over regulate everything until it directly affects them. Then it's a different story. I think that being so removed from everything makes people in big cities nutty. If we quit farming, logging, mining and ranching we are going to starve off half or there shouts the worlds population, not be able to create heat, power or build homes. But it's fine to import everything from countries that pollute 100X what we do and be at their mercy for our every need.

I pulled bullracks for years across Wyoming, the dakotas, Nebraska and Montana and I've seen some horrible winds. Between sweetgrass and Shelby on I15blows multiple trucks over every year.

I don't know if Bob heard of or remembers this but when I was working at FedEx a line haul driver had an eagle come through the passenger window of his truck. I believe it happened in Oregon. I was told things were pretty exciting in the cab until the driver got pulled over.

50 years ago immigrants had to have a sponsor family that helped the new Americans get settled in and helped find them jobs and help them fit in any way they could. A very close friend of mine immigrated here from Holland in the 50's and has told me stories about immigrating here with his family as a teenager. Immigrants are welcome here IF you want to meld and become part of our society. That doesn't mean giving up all of your culture but it does mean everything you believe in or like doesn't necessarily take precedence over life and culture here. We don't have to change our society and way of life for you but you are welcome to join ours and add to it. We have the same saying about out of staters here in Montana OD, they move here for the beauty, the laid back lifestyle and the first thing they do is act just like they did in New York or California and make stupid gated communities and post no trespassing signs everywhere. Why move somewhere else and act just like the A-holes from where you just left?

You're forgetting KS that our hands are basically tied behind our backs in many of these situations. Take Chicago for example. Some of the toughest gun laws in the country and guess what? Only the criminals have guns and they are shooting each other as fast as we can pick them up. If you were to start things like stop and frisk (which did and does work) in those high crime areas the mayor, police commissioner and all the cops no matter what color race creed or religion would be called racists and CNN hln MSNBC NBC abc and cbs would be shouting 24 hours a day what a horrible racist mean unfair country ran by old men with white privilege we live in. The technology out there is absolutely fascinating. I remember when they used the stealth bombers in Iraq for the first time and seeing the videos of the skies filled with tracer rounds from the Iraqis firing aimlessly at something they could not see on the radar. I was even more amazed to find out that tech was figured out in the seventies. Can't even imagine what cool things we have that are classified.
