If you read the article I posted, you'll see that NYC gave IDs to illegals and admits to it in the article. So they knowingly are helping illegals take advantage of this country. If you're here illegally, you shouldn't reap the benefits of this country. Obviously common sense wasn't taught in "civics" class.

No those mayors said we will not help in any way, shape or form. Again there are things they could do to help rather than welcome people who are here illegally to come stay in their city on the taxpayers dime. They could say although we can't afford to go at this illegal alien problem alone we will work hand in hand with the Feds to help in anyway possible. If we happen to pull someone over for speeding and find they are here illegally we will turn them over to whatever federal agency that is dealing with this. How hard is that? How about for a start the mayors say we will not purposely go out of our way to harbor illegal aliens? How about not giving them state ID's like diblasio did? Or how about the city council gets together with the mayor and makes steep fines for businesses caught knowingly and purposely hiring illegals? Those aren't that expensive, hard or abstract ideas to implement.

No, I didn't forget immigration is governed by the Feds. That's why I pointed out how shameful these clowns running these sanctuary cities making a point to come out and literally say we will not help or comply in any way. It takes no more effort to detain a legal citizen than an illegal. The difference is, we can send the latter home if these boneheads cooperate. That's probably not good for their reelection which is likely a big part of why they don't comply. Same reason they are against state ID required to vote. We can stop this illegal border jumping, but EVERYONE needs to play their part to make it happen.

Wow city council member. Didn't know that makes you an expert on the situation state by state. Now an elected official says they will harbor illegals is ILLEGAL. That means the mayor tell the police chief to NOT turn over any illegal they come across in routine traffick stops or any other time law enforcement comes in contact with someone during their job and learns they are illegal. That IS breaking the law. They (city officials) also are not helping the Feds track down dangerous criminals in their cities where their (city officials) duty and loyalty lies with their citizens and no border jumpers are not citizens they are criminals simply based in how they got here.

I know you try hard to post relevant news but I could be wrong but I haven't seen you post anything besides anti trump news. How he's going to wreck everything. That's all I was pointing out. I do think it's unfair to make him out to be a lame duck before he ever gets inaugurated. That's exactly my point. Steel, coal, logging, mining, drilling have all been basically run out of business by government regulations and suddenly they decide to save gm and Chrysler. Again the government deciding who succeeds and who doesn't is a dangerous path to start down. If gm was left to fail how do you know that somebody wouldn't have bought it or parts of it and grew it into a something? If the government always steps in they are killing entrepreneurs and their ingenuity which stifles any future growth in the US.

A big reason for open borders is the dems figured out if they give free healthcare, housing etc and refuse to pass a law that requires state ID to vote they will forever get the border jumper vote. Dick Morris wrote a very interesting book about this very thing and yes Paul it does make a mockery of our country.

Well she did commit a crime. She knowingly set up a private server and put classified information on it. That is illegal. The first FBI investigation wouldn't charge her but chewed her out and told her how stupid and egregious her actions were. Not charging her was a complete mockery of our justice system. Remember at the first inquiry she said she gave all of her emails to the FBI (after she had her hard drive professionally cleaned) and then at the last investigation after wiki leaks they found more emails? Isn't that at the very least perjury?

Never even thought about news corporations maximizing their profits by not paying good jounalists to dig up quality stories. One of the very few radio stations I can get is a couple of am news stations and they have the repeat the same everything every 15 min. My satellite radio antenna or power cord has broke on me and that's the only time I'll listen to terrestrial radio...for a few minutes then the drone of the engine starts sounding better.

24 hr news channels are what brought on opinion-based "news". When you have 24 hours to fill instead of 30min-1hour, everything becomes a story. When you can't stand out from the competition with your "news", put a slant on it to get attention, find out how to rile the people up by saying and editing things out of context to further your ratings and agenda. I never have had cable or even rabbit ears since I graduated high school didn't like the media bs (or the price of cable) then or now. Netflix and amazon prime are perfect for me since everything on there is new to me with out the commercials.

The bright side of this to me KS is trump showed us someone besides a career politician who isn't necessarily associated with either of the parties or is associated with both (whichever way you look at it) made it to the White House.

They hate all those things until they run out of something or encounter a hardship. Both coasts have big cities with city dwellers who have absolutely no common sense about any blue collar job that they need to survive like trucking, coal for their power, oil for their heat and vehicles etc. It's sad that those little pockets (geographically) of people who are so removed from how we get food, power, asphalt etc etc have the controlling vote of the rest of the nation. They will have to change their tune once they regulate themselves into a food, power, oil shortage and they go without for awhile.

And Obummer the freshman senator "community organizer" accomplished what before his presidency that gave you comfort in his ability run the country? Watch the news and you'll see our country is in more discontent then it ever has been in my lifetime. Race relations are as poor as they were in the fifties because the president backed looting and rioting by standing idle while it happened and when he did address it he sympathized with the "protesters" instead of stopping the violence? The Middle East is as bad as ever, obummer gave Iran the ability to make nukes does that make you feel safe? He also refused to call terrorists terrorists and refuses to do anything about there growing violence in the US. The IRS was caught red handed discriminating against conservative/republican 501 C3 organizations and virtually no repercussions. Obummer has turned his back on law enforcement and by again standing by idle is condoning the actions and encourages the offenders to ramp up their actions. Think I'm wrong? Look at all this cop killing bs going on. Again what makes you feel safe with Obummer at the helm? I'd argue about trump not being successful. If you can turn 1 million bucks into billions go broke and do it again your successful. Claiming bankruptcy or tax write offs as a detriment to what trump has built is a weak argument. Any business hires accountant to find as many LEGAL write offs as possible. You or I would do the same thing to make a business as profitable as possible. If you think the tax laws or bankruptcy laws aren't good go out and vote to change them. Until then trump shouldn't be demonized by using the laws as best as he can for himself like every other business. In short from what I've seen Obummer has done nothing but divide this country between career welfare recipients and minorities pitted against the working class and white people with"white privelege". The economy is in the crapperand after nearly a decade it can no longer be blamed on bush, Obummer care IS a giant failure. It's time for a change, it's time for someone with some business sense to pull the nose up on this plane and start us on the decades long climb out of debt and rebuilding of our infrastructure.
