  1. Very interesting read, thanks.
  2. So why was another country testing their missiles off of our coast and noth their own? I'm sure they must've had permission from the US but reading that just seemed odd to me.
  3. I think Bernie believes his rederect but I think it's ridiculous. I'm not ready to give up 80-90 percent of my earning to put others through school and pay for other parasitic programs.
  4. I've seen brush piles around here burn for months. You wouldn't see any signs of a fire or any smoke but on ththe right day the mound underneath he snow starts steaming and smoking. My grandpa told me Champion Logging Company used to have military surplus airplane engines mounted on flatbed trailers and they would use them to literally can the fire so it would burn up fast.
  5. Amen brother. Like I've said on here before, those who preach tolerance (liberals) seem to have the least of it for others with a view that differs from their own.
  6. Don't forget all of the local terrorism that isis and other Muslim terrorist have claimed over the last few years. Boston marathon bombing, the San Diego shootings, the gay night club shooting to name a few. And we still let them into the US but as Bernie sanders said a couple of days ago when congress was interviewing one of the candidates for surgeon general I believe "..we are NOT a compassionate country..."
  7. Guys remember you're arguing with someone who is an expert on everything, who thrives on calling fellow BMT members names when her "FACTS" don't add up or someone disagrees with her.
  8. That's the liberal way Paul, tell everyone else names and try to publicly shame them no matter what the FACTS are.
  9. Elogs are to strict or literal if that's the right way to put it. On a paper log you go by quarter hours, so if you're being honest you get 7 min past each quarter hour before you should (ethically) have to claim another quarter hour on your logs. So if I have plenty of time to get to a spot where I can take my government mandated (stupid stupid stupid law) 30 min break before I go over my 8 hours of work time is up and I run into trouble, i.e. Get stuck behind an oversized load or a slow moving vehicle or road conditions dictate I slow down and I don't make it to my destination where I can legally pull over I get wrote up. 1 second past 8 hrs and I get wrote up and every write goes for points against me. 4 points and you're up for review and the bosses decide whether to keep you or give you more "training". So I watch that fricken elog count down timer like a hawk because on my route 15 minutes can make or break my second load. If I don't get a second load I go home early without pay. Now mind you we work a 3 day rotating work week so getting 3 ten hour days leaves me in part time status and really stings the wallet.
  10. Not mine http://bozeman.craigslist.org/hvo/5964159074.html
  11. Not mine, looks to be all wheel drive to. Looks like a beast. https://missoula.craigslist.org/hvo/5939991392.html
  12. Yup. Liberal city folk want to outlaw everything until it effects them, then they bitch and moan like no other.
  13. The irony of the left always preaching tolerance and acceptance to everyone but having the least of it for others with a view that opposes their own. The left elite (you know the 1 percenters they're always bitching about) thinks they should get to run the entire US and if things don't go their way they snivel and whine with the best of them. Did the people who voted for Romney threaten to leave the US? Did they protest, loot and burn their own towns? Did they have to have therapists, therapy dogs or a safe space to go cry in? Did they make multiple ads on tv bad mouthing and flat out lying about a president before he is inaugurated? Did they try to get the electoral college abolished because their guy listen? NO! It's time the we had someone with some balls shake things up for the better. Like him or not Donald has already kept a couple of businesses from completely leaving the US. That's far more than the current president has done. He's too busy signing more land into monuments and giving himself and Biden medals.
  14. Looks like someone didn't check to make sure everything was turning before heading down the freeway! Lol 😆
  15. No, it's not sick. The company I work for has a fleet of them and I'm not impressed. I think some of it is the way they are spec'd out but we had C15's in the same fleet spec'd trucks and it pulled way better. Just my experience.
  16. Like it's been said on this thread before consumers want options and don't want to pay more for them simply because it's a Mack. Every farmer around here has a 475-550 horsepower engine in their trucks. Do they need that much? No but they not unlike myself like to have option to lay on the go pedal when we need it. If Mack made a 15 or 16 liter that is durable and has power they could possibly take some market share from Detroit. Word around the fuel pumps that I hear from drivers and mechanics is DD is the most reliable def/dpf engine but they just don't have the grunt. I drive one every day and am always blown away when I drive my neighbors truck pulling similar weights with a 444 Cummings at how much better it pulls the weight than my 2014 DD15 does. All day long foot to the floor to try and maintain speed, other than shifting it seems rare that your foot ever leaves the floor. I hear the MaxxForce engines have all kinds of problems and I've heard similar things about Cummings, so come on Mack marketing team, keep the MP10 price it competitively and make some options available on your trucks.
  17. They are the number one soy bean importer.
  18. Let us know when you return from la la land.
  19. I disagree, the timber industry started taking a steep decline in the late 80's. The majority of the mills that closed in Montana all happened well before the 2008 housing crash. Tree huggers filing multiple frivolous lawsuits killed the timber industry here. Have you ever seen how much timber we import? I have, I watch train loads of it go by every week and I see the local reload station where Canadian trucks bring in lumber to be distributed here. The open market works when you're not handcuffed by EPA, tree huggers and every other bs group that tries to shut any industry down. The same people who drive their cars to an oil drilling protest. https://ncfp.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/montana-mill-closures-4_6_2010.pdf
  20. Agreed, but you should know a couple more facts that might help add to my pro logger view point. In Montana the forest service used to sell somewhere between 15 and 20 million board feet of timber that is selectively harvested and closely watched by foresters. Now Montana public lands sells less than 1 million board feet and burns up 10 to 15 million every couple of years. Clear cuts and other poor practices have long been abandoned unless you're on private land which very little of the timbered area in Montana is. No one wants to see a healthier, productive forest then loggers. Notice in the 70's and 80's how few fires Montana had? Thank a logger for getting rid of the extra fuel load as you pointed out and keeping the pine beetles from killing all our forests which is what we have now. Anywhere you drive here the needles on the trees are turning orange from beetle kill. Then it burns and wastes the timber and money on the firewatchers.
  21. Don't forget about the millions of acres of public land that burns up every year in the lower 48 since logging has basically been outlawed just like coal. Better to let it burn rather than make a useful product that could be sold or used.
  22. What about pics from the winfall New Year's Eve party? I know this can't be it because they don't have that new of rigs in the other photos I have studied. Happy new year guys.
  23. Welcome, you will find no other forum with a massive Mack knowledge base like BMT.
  24. Good point. I believe that can happen if the bearing is over greased. At least thats what I've been told.
  25. I wonder when the restoration was done on it?
