Back in the 90’s Baptist hospital in Memphis had a pair of 16V149’s for back up power; worked on another at some place that didn’t have enough power & they had 16V149 also for the power

The most noticeable thing will be $$$$ out of your pocket; unless you need a turbo. in all honesty you want really notice the 27 hp if you make your 400 a 427 my opinion & what I’ve learned over the years

Truck didn’t have any oil leaks; clean under the bottom -
I think a lot of people put to much grease in; when you damage seals & boots your letting dirt & debri in; if no seal then it doesn’t matter

I agree; haven’t heard this as a problem (rear seal); should be focusing on cup problems -
The 1 my friend has in his shop goes to smelling; plumber says they take a lot of water volume to work properly & regular house services don’t usually have what it takes

I’ve always heard that chevron made the oil for Mack; but that doesn’t mean your dealer uses Mack brand; I worked at a engine dealer in my younger days & they pushed 1 certain oil brand but the bulk tank was the cheapest stuff they could buy
