  1. Get the helicoil set that is complete with drill bit, tap & tool to insert the helicoil. They work good.
  2. Fan hub can cause vibration through whole truck. Don’t think it would cause the wear to the clutch as you describe. The wear you describe seems to me like it would be something in the flywheel housing & trans bell housing area.
  3. The first 110’s had a different style blower, they turned a lot more rpm and couldn’t handle high engine rpm. So they designed that engine with the style that’s on all 2stroke Detroit’s (roots). By that time the 8V-71 came out & they discontinued the 110.
  4. I know I’m getting off track here; 6-110 was replaced by the 8V-71. I think they still made them up in the middle 60’s. They had more torque than the 8V-71’s and all the old timers loved them. I mostly worked on them in drag-lines.
  5. They made 6-110; but they weren’t in any on highway trucks
  6. They didn’t make any kind of a 6-149. They had 12V’s that were 2 6V blocks.
  7. If I was going my request would be for OD to bring some of them winfall wimmins!
  8. They do a thorough background check when they issue hazmat licenses; at least in ms; took forever; I’m glad I didn’t need them for my living
  9. Right out of high school I went to work at a local parts house; the owner that I knew all my life told me when pricing; If you can’t f..k your friends who can you f..k. I didn’t stay long after that

^^^^ I agree; bunch of the yuppie stuff now, but they still have a lot of their same stuff (in what I wear) also agree about the price on the westco & those Russell’s too.
  11. That’s a good lookin ford

What style # did red wing discontinue that y’all wore? I have a pair of lace up 4451 steel toe that I wear occasionally but not much on lace up having to take them off so much. Anyway was told they have them only made to order nowadays. Guess people don’t like the older style stuff? All the new boots look like something from outer space

Red wing had to change to compete so I heard; but they still have there all USA stuff too. I can’t get use to the newer styles myself. I wear carhartt shirts & coat & haven’t heard anything about them

These are nice lookin boots; too good for work boots; really like the price. That’s same kinda style of 1 I buy, I have thought of skipping because of the heel; the others I wear have about half that.

I agree feet are important. I got on the red wing thing cause my wolverine supplier quit. Never thought I could afford red wing; but they would outlast them wolverines almost 3 times; so it made since. I always wore the older style USA red wings; they do have some cheap lookin stuff now. My styles have gotten so expensive that the store don’t stock them anymore. Got on red wing socks about 20yr ago; the only socks I ever found that would last and not slide down. They discontinued them. Think they called them the double knee or something, best boot sock ever. Will have to try those Hanes

Need a new pair and was wanting people’s opinions; myself have been wearing red wings for last 30yrs, keep 2 pair of slip-on’s and rotate; & keep another for a clean pair & slip in rotation when needed. All different style but they are very similar.
  17. That’s tuff; feel for any family that went through such
  18. The 6V-53 would be the best in that they turn 2800 rpm you can get 3000 out of them safe. But lord the noise. If I put a 53 in it I’d have to turbo it to quite it down. 6V-92 natural aspirated would be cool if the turbo took too much room. Same size as V71’s
  19. The man that told me to stay away from Fram said he thought purolaters were good filters.
  20. I always thought fram was suppose to be one of the best too. I heard years ago they were bad
