  1. We don't see much of that here (if any) We have flooding, but in general it's usually not as far spread out. Looks like being a truck driver there is a demanding job.
  2. A switch that'll work there may not look identical to yours'. Like Brocky said , correct pipe thread size and a replacement shouldn't be too difficult to find. It'll have two posts for wires but may have a little bit different shape.
  3. I see. We don't get floods like that here in the area I live. Usually by the rivers if any.
  4. I was wondering about how it ended up in that much water (flood ??) looks like at some point the water was even higher.
  5. What's going on in that picture ? Looks like that could be a expensive dry out
  6. That Overnite video is pretty slick. Never actually saw how that was done. How about the detail job on that Volvo ??
  7. I don't know how they arrived at the nomenclature ( how about that big word ?? ) I have no idea if it was somehow related to CGVW or what. But there were twin screws and single axles or trucks with tags and they were badged as some form of 60 series. Now in 2022, the tag axle is making a come back. Between anti lock brakes and "smart suspensions" and traction control , it's not too hard to see tractors using them.
  8. IDK Larry, lots of those single axle tractors pulled tandem trailers. Not sure how they arrived at the numbers. I do remember some of those single axle ones with a dump trailer and they carried in excess of a twenty ton payload.
  9. The Bs were weight rated by their numerical ID I E B 61 was rated for 60.000 pounds (the 6) and it would be a diesel (odd numbers were diesel the 1 ) so a B42 would have been rated for 40,000 pounds and had a gas engine
  10. That girl was from close to where I live. She and her twin sister enlisted it seems. Seems they both had a rare heart disorder ( I may be using wrong terminology ) From what I understand they discovered it after her passing and found her twin to also have it. Very sad . However, seems oddly enough to be fortunate for her sister.
  11. F, you'd be surprised. Don't forget, something like that topped out in the low 50 MPH range. True they didn't spend a lot of time in HI gear . At the time though ? for a dump truck or a mixer (or something like that) they were pretty good at walking around in soft earth with a load on them. (lol) What were they ??? 170 HP and like 600 lb/ft of torque in a narrow RPM range ?? In 1960 though.....that was something.
  12. Do you have any idea how many shifters have been heated and bent after transmission swaps . It's a fairly common remedy in an older truck . Terry has the right idea. Just have to remember the bit about the rough roads and chances are in some certain spots it may even come in contact with the hole in your floor. (so one or two tweek jobs may be required) Before any part in the shifter wears , the truck'll have some other problem that puts it down for the count.
  13. When I was a kid watching that show ? I thought that was a cool truck, now ? I still do, but appreciate it in a whole different way. Clone or real thing, that's a beautiful W900.
  14. I know they would have been in the HP would have been over 300 but they were pretty impressive in the torque area . Those cars had to weigh over 4000 pounds too. Cool stuff. and yes..... law enforcement used to look like Matt Dillon
  15. Solid lifter 390s ? 2 door Galaxies ? That's quite a rocket , love to have one of those now (like when it was new)
  16. Wasn't there and adaptor on the CLs that located the lever further rearward ? Maybe one of those set ups ?
  17. Thank God.
  18. They'll never get my baby
  19. That does sound pretty good. I'd be die'n to take it for a ride if I were you. I remember that sound from when I was a kid.
  20. Used to be a guy named Doug Fetterly had an add in Wheels Of Time. Thought I remembered something about stainless bumpers.
  21. Somebody had my Corvette there ???? Thanks for posting.
  22. I don't know if I'm more impressed by the job you're doing on the truck.....or your degree of self control. I'd never have stopped at 100 yards.
  23. That looks like that nosey person investigating the mailbox incident blocking the view of that Oldsmobile (?) What a pest
  24. Yes it is. Covers how to do it .
