  1. Used to be a guy named Doug Fetterly had an add in Wheels Of Time. Thought I remembered something about stainless bumpers.
  2. Somebody had my Corvette there ???? Thanks for posting.
  3. I don't know if I'm more impressed by the job you're doing on the truck.....or your degree of self control. I'd never have stopped at 100 yards.
  4. That looks like that nosey person investigating the mailbox incident blocking the view of that Oldsmobile (?) What a pest
  5. Yes it is. Covers how to do it .
  6. Someone had a video of an Auzzie man installing a Dayton type rim on a trailer a while back. (he may have been changing a flat) It was a very detailed simple example of removing and replacing a Dayton (and correct). It was on a trailer if I remember correctly, but the steps he went through apply to anything. The deflating the tire part ??? a tube type with a split rim isn't something a guy with no experience should be playing with when it comes to changing the tire on the rim. As far as the mounted tire on a vehicle , that part is the same as a tubeless. !!!! but.... if changing from tube type split rims to tubeless ??? there's a fairly good chance your hardware may change ( wedges, spacer ) and that's not to say the hardware on the truck already might be shot. In which case no torque or tightening will ever hold them on fast.
  7. Be interesting to hear someone's thoughts on that subject. (FYI I have more respect for you than to put you on the spot like that) It's unbelievable how disconnected from reality our leadership (lol) really is.
  8. Could be on the door of the fuse panel too.
  9. Hall Scott, don't see those very often.
  10. Need more information . Some pictures ? Never know, it might still be somewhere.....and there's even a chance someone has it and not willing to part with it .
  11. I was talking about this with an older friend of mine (@67) he said he was told about it in grade school. I don't remember ever hearing any of it (I'm 56) now ? I have no idea what's taught in schools. But as far as I can see you're much more likely to see something media sensationalizes as scandalous than any of this history.
  12. Joey, you should move up here. You can see where the Mack Brothers came from and all. And i know one guy that'll give ya work (wink wink)
  13. I wasn't even born when JFK was around. I can remember seeing the Nixon saga on TV, but at that time I was aggravated it was cut'n into cartoons.
  14. This is some really interesting stuff. Sad thing is it's way easier to find info about his affairs or what ever other retarded stuff the media puts out there. I never knew 90 percent of what I've read in this thread.
  15. How about on the old 2 valve engines when the block would get busted up down around the main webs ? Yes. after the stroke job (E7/E Tech) there wasn't much problems in the crankshaft area on the Macks.
  16. Ever see a 3408 crank shaft ? They suck for any application where torque is required from the engine. They were ok for big horsepower, but a lousy design for torque. 3406 E and C15s had some issues with broken cranks.
  17. Make no mistake about it, I'm not pro Volvo. I'd be perfectly fine with the R cab (RW 😍) and E Tech . Just seems like who ever engineers or the board of directors deciding what new stuff is must be somewhat removed from actually using the trucks.
  18. That floor in my opinion wasn't all that great in a vocational truck. While it's true it was fantastic as far as any major repairs transmission wise , it really didn't leave a good spot between the seats for any kind of controls for a dump body or anything like that. On another note, the older Granites ? again for a vocational truck ? they gave up about a foot of usable frame space behind the cab because of the exhaust. Really not ideal.
  19. Paul, I read a few lines of the story you posted. Realize I need to read it on a laptop instead of my phone. Interesting history, thanks for posting.
  20. I can think of plenty of 3406s that had broken cranks. I owned one that got a short block under warranty. E6 ? Notorious for cams, E7 ? Oil pressure issues that kept Jakes from working. E Tech ? Lots of problems with the overhead. They all have problems. One of the issues now is they're all way more complicated and less guys to work on them than ever.
  21. Come on......lets be fair here. I can remember as long back as I can remember (which is before I even knew what the stuff was) At first ? "those transmissions with the bronze in them were never gonna last" then "there's more and more fiberglass" then "I'm not driving anything my foot doesn't go straight to a injection pump" . Old trucks are cool..... but let's see anyone who's driven a new one do 4 or 5 hundred miles a day in an R Model with a 300 and a five speed after having driven an Anthem with a 505 and M Drive . Always been just work horse trucks. How many White 9000s you see restored ? Truth is we all love the trucks from our own era. That being said...... yeah, if there's a new Mack ??? It's game over for everything but the name. Volvo did it to White, GMC , even the mighty Autocar. Personally, I can't believe it's taken them so long to deep 6 the Macks.
  22. I get it. This is what trucks are now. I had a Heritage 4964 I bought brand new in '96. I loved that truck and it was tough, still going to this day. Unfortunately they're all a lot alike anymore.
  23. I get confused with things identified by multiple letters
