  1. I believe 84 superdog is right. I have a '96 CL that both housings cracked. They were 44's but ran different size bearings and races. These were also cast. No used ones found in the U.S. had to buy new. That hurt hard.
  2. Filling the filters with fuel is actually the main cause of injector pump failure. If you fill the filters, you gotta fill them through the outside little holes and not the center hole. That way the fuel gets filtered. Otherwise you suck dirty fuel right into your injector pump. I just buy bulk ATF and fill the filters full with that, screw Them on.
  3. Set forwards are the best looking granites in my opinion. Sharp truck! That box looks HUGE compared to what we use in Mn.
  4. The last truck I rebuilt mack wanted $450 for the CH style carpet. The salesman ordered it in and let met take it to a upholstery Shop to get copied. The carpet guy laughed and said that was the cheapest crap he saw. He cut me heavier carpet with better padding and did it for $89.
  5. So does that mean peterbilt is gone cause Paccar owns them? Lol
  6. Actually the the MP's are different from the volvos. Besides the software, mack runs a different type of egr and cooler. I thought maybe they had different cam profiles too
  7. I picked a complete pacbrake off of eBay for $600. That was housings, switches, wiring and everything.
  8. I was taught in schooling that you'll get better economy with a direct transmission and very high rear ends. With overdrive gearing in a transmission there is more drag because of gear sizing. Coefficient of friction I believe the term was?
  9. That is the super econodyne? Those pull real nice at 1100 rpm!
  10. All of my CL's and CH's except one had the bottom crossover line. You could order them either way. Because water weighs more than fuel your water can setlle in the crossover and freeze up. That small cross member that the line is attached to is bent so the line is lower than the tanks. I usually flip it upside down so the line is above the bottom of the tanks. It might leave 10 extra gallons in the tank though
  11. We always just bought two chrome elbows and cut the outside radius off of each one and tig welded them together. I know its hard to picture without seeing it.
  12. How about superliner interior pictures? I'd love to see some fancy old school cloth and vinyl.
  13. If she has herpes it might be considered a rent a to own.
  14. Someone mention fat girls? Its getting cold here.
  15. I live in Saint Cloud where GATR started. When the new owner bought it things got more expensive. We used to get a lot service work done there but the attitude of the whole place changed. Then he and Nuss were in a Volvo pissing match so he bought the Mack dealer in Iowa to sell Macks up here. Poor guy got busted a few months ago trying to buy a hooker......damn cops.
  16. You have done what I only thought about for 10 years! Kudos to you! You wanna be a truck importer now? I'd love a superliner 3! Your valueliner is awesome!!
  17. They are easy to swap and they will cause a light
  18. From "The Sensor Connection" a place that deals with thermocouples and sensors. Question:Can I shorten the EGT probe's cable or will that mess up the accuracy because the ohms of the wire won't be the same? Reducing the length of the EGT probe's wire by a few feet typically will not affect the operation or accuracy of the probe.
  19. Personally I'd go with 394's. Your low gear in those Allison's are pretty steep. Unless your doing nothing but loose dirt and mud work.
  20. I run synthetic, I noticed about 30 degree drop in temp.
  21. The last eup's I bought were under $300. And they take about 15 minutes to replace. But you still need to have the dealer calibrate them to the motor eventually. My dealer here doesn't charge for that. Usually the engine light eup code will come up as the weather gets colder, you may have a good year left in them though. If you replace them yourself just make sure u soak the pump o rings in the tight type of oil before installation. Those o rings are $50!
  22. You poor guy. I had that seven speed in a 89 R model. It grossed 85,000 and that shift from 6 to 7 was terrible. For some reason we also had lots of clutch wear, and we even switched drivers in that truck to see if it'd make a difference. For rear ends you can buy a whole back "cutoff" for $1500. As for the tranny, I put a 9spd in mine and it was so much better
