  1. Navistar is getting their SCR from Cummins for the Maxxfarce motors. That is the reason they won't offer the c15 in the trucks. Its all about patting each others back.
  2. That thought crossed my mind a lot. Different front springs and extend a axle forward hood.
  3. 1996 E7 427. Driver instantly lost power steering. Full of oil, no leaks, no noise. Any suggestions?
  4. http://www.gerhartmachinery.com/1984-mack-mh613-truck-tractor/ Saw this one
  5. 20,000 lbs front axles have twin steering gear, one on each side. Lighter axles just have one. It all depends how the truck was spec'd
  6. I picked up a complete Jake kit on eBay for $600. Brand new in the box, all wires, housings, you name it.
  7. Like Logtruck said.....I love my CL's but if there were new RW713's I'd have five of those instead. Etec E9 and a 18spd, CL chassis but set forward axle. Actually a titan built with a set forward axle would be sweet.....with a etec E9. Word on the street up here is that a guy with one of the first titans built is looking at repowering it with a E9
  8. My experience with steerable tags is that they like to steer the ass end of your truck around. Especially if your on any paved roads with the lanes kinda "worn in". My last one I actually had to put a air locker on it. Its basically a brake chamber with a finger that'll go down into a lock that's bolted on your tie rod bar. Then when you turn a corner u flip the switch and unlock it.
  9. Its crappy springs....on one of my CL'S I replaced right and left springs on the steer and after that the truck leaned. I have 20,000 fronts and they showed me a service bulletin about adding lift blocks. Well the side that sagged more made it one year and busted. Replaced it and now its level again.
  10. Youre supposed to put new injector lines on when you replace injectors.....
  11. If its rebuilt, absolutely use the best oil you can get. Newer oil is one reason components last so long now. Oil has come a long ways in the last 50 years.
  12. I'd send the used filter in for a oil analysis. Once you know what's plugging the filter you have a starting point.
  13. I heard in the mid eighties Mack designed a very aerodynamic truck that eventually morphed into the CH. A friend of mine was at Mack taking a tour and actually saw a glimpse of it. They said the truck looked to futuristic and wouldn't catch on. Then the kW t600 came out.
  14. So true logman, kind of like the ford vs. Chevy. They all have problems but they're all good too.
  15. Sounds like the oil cooler. It should have a updated oil cooler that looks like plates stacked together
  16. I believe 41 Chevy is referring to the breather filter
  17. Logtruckman, how's the titan been for you? Any troubles? Mpg? I am ordering one.....I think
  18. That E7 is one of the best truck engines ever built! And 1800 ft lbs is very possible wWith the right turbo and injectors.
