  1. If you google Clariben hoods, they sold ones for many trucks in the US.
  2. To this day, when I trip on something I always point at it and say, "Have that removed!".
  3. When I was turning wrenches, we didn't use the specs. We would tighten down the first nut while slowly spinning the hub (to seat the bearings and races) and then back it off a little. Then turn it just until all the slack is gone. Then crank the locknut down with a 24" breaker bar, if you lean into it pretty good that's tight enough. In 18 years of putting wheels on, I never had one come back (and don't say that's because they went off the side of a hill).
  4. JeffL's truck has a lot of rust, and the MB's are not popular restoration candidates anyway. Obviously if noone's bought carlot's truck then there's no point in trying to find a buyer for JeffL's.
  5. Sounds like you may be sucking air...are all the filters tight? Did you have any fuel lines loose when draining it? A loose or cracked fuel line will suck air.
  6. I agree with you, VaP. I don't have a urinal but I live out in the sticks so I just go behind the barn. It would be a pain in the keister to remove said boots every time I go.
  7. I remember back in the day that John Deere worked with DD on the development of the 60 series. I don't remember when Penske got involved.
  8. That RHD conversion on top of the dash sure is an ugly thing! Hayseed, thank you for posting an interesting article.
  9. If you're going to do all that, you should convert to an alternator.
  10. So what did Tomlin and Rooney do to be a disgrace? Right now I'm watching the Packers give Tomlin fits.
  11. MT, I'm clueless on emission systems. What exactly does "the emissions system support failed" mean?
  12. Yeah, if he was a nice guy he wouldn't be able to do the things he did.
  13. Okay, I need a little education here. The operator's manual shows 3 "two-way valves". Would that be tractor parking, trailer parking, and ??? My '58 H67 has one of these valves mounted below the dash; I figured that was because they added maxibrakes at some point.
  14. Found on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mack-Truck-Fiberglass-Sun-Visor-MCV4-MC2-Superliner-New-Old-Stock-Vintage/263332097821?hash=item3d4fd0ef1d:g:3WIAAOSwA~VaEL3V&vxp=mtr&autorefresh=true
  15. Found this video of truck pulls with several Superliners, including 2 very fine ones at 6:00 and 7:02.
  16. I've seen that done when someone had a bad rear end and they had a good axle sitting out back.
  17. That's exciting when you get framework standing up!
  18. When I was a kid we all looked up to Evel. I've seen a couple of documentaries about him recently and he was really a jerk. That's really sad to hear since he was such a hero to us.
  19. Honestly, with those things bouncing away I don't know how you could see anything.
  20. Billy, was that one of the things that Jifflox made? My dad had a small terminal in Jacksonville FL in the early 70's and I remember seeing some of those you're talking about. I don't know if they were CF trucks that I saw.
