  1. If you go to "You Know Who's" Truck Pictures, the Dan Espinosa Collection has some original factory photos of a Turnpike Cruiser with a really sharp 12v-71 in it. http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/espinosa6.htm
  2. That must be a Star Trek reference...I only remember a little about the original show and never watched the sequels so I'm at a loss.

    Mack value

A lot of it has to do with the mechanicals...does it run and drive well? Is the steering tight, brakes strong? It would be hard to get more than $5,000 if you can't hop in and drive it. Transportation is another cost, if you can't find a buyer locally that can knock a grand off the value.
  4. Has anyone ever seen a knob like this? It's glass with a brass thread insert (5/8" fine thread); the inside has green, yellow, and white stripes. Outside diameter is about 1-7/8". The guy I bought one of my H67's from was also restoring a 1951 GMC pickup, so it's possible this came out of that truck. Maybe a floor lamp part?
  5. That truck looks fast just sitting still.
  6. Yeah...I like the Dodge. What if I was offended by their Koi pond...would they have to remove it?
  7. A decent piece of steel box tubing or heavy wall pipe would work in place of the 4x4.
  8. Never even been installed.

    Cigars..

I want to know who's been smelling a dog's butt.
  10. Is this your same B model, and you painted it?
  11. There are some very cool Macks in Johnstown. ;-) Of course, the coolest ones belong to Maverick.
  12. That is a cool sounding motor, but being raised hearing a 673 running I would rather hear the Mack. Strictly nostalgia.
  13. I'll bet a 4-71 with 5 cars behind it would be a real snail!
  14. It's a great project...Keith S is doing a careful, quality build. I like the idea but he'll have to have a CD of a 673 running through the gears while he's driving it.
  15. I like your philosophy on the Dupont overhauls. What was welded to the back of the cab?
  16. As you show in step 3, torque to 50 lb. ft. and back off until the lock ring will slide on. After you torque the locknut, there is preload on the bearing.
  17. They were special edition trucks...see below.
  18. Looks like you've got some work ahead of you.
  19. Slack in the bearings will cause excessive wear and vibration...you want them snug as shown in Keith S's procedure.
  20. I think they call that a transplanter or a spade...this truck is just to move them around after they've been cut or dug up.
  21. Boy the hood sure is long on those guys. The fuel pump on that 1674 sure looks bass ackwards, driven off the rear of the motor.
  22. That's a neat looking truck!
  23. Looks like you've been busy! Version 2, huh...you're already planning to build another eMack?
