  1. Yeah, I wouldn't pay 5k unless everything else was in super nice shape. Looks like the rust is pretty bad.
  2. Good to hear, let us know how it turns out.
  3. If the cooler took a lot of oil I would clean it out, either by MHfred's method or have a radiator shop wash it out. If you get under load and a gob of oil gets blown into the intake, you could have a runaway.

    I want one

    That thing is great!
  5. I looked it up on Google Maps...the inside looks pretty much like it did in 1970 when my family used to eat there. It's about 5 miles from where I'm sitting right now.

The ad says this is one of 4 made...I wonder if there's anything particularly special about it. For engine, it just says "Thermodyne". https://www.ebay.com/itm/mack-truck/152917267496?hash=item239a945428:g:22UAAOSwYDZajYiW&vxp=mtr
  7. I think all engineers should have to work on old vehicles for a while before they can design them.
  8. You know what they say, "When you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns". I firmly believe that criminals and psychologically disturbed people should be blocked from buying guns, but this country was founded by citizens who owned guns...and there may come a day when it will have to be defended by citizens again.
  9. You're not kidding about that Brockway, that thing is beautiful. Is that second picture a 4 cyl. Cummins? That looks mighty old.
  10. Cowhater...does that mean you'll only eat chicken, pork, and fish?
  11. Amen to that...if something says "aftermarket" and doesn't give a name, that's a bad sign. I'd try to get a Delco or Leece.

    Hello

Welcome! Watch this site often and you'll learn a lot about them.
  13. I would put a voltmeter on the batteries while it's pegged just to make sure your gauge is accurate. A bad regulator will cause that, or bad connections. Could even be a broken wire somewhere.
  14. Here's a foam-type pedal seal for a Brockway, it's 5/8" thick and 3-1/2" diameter. $16 with free shipping. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Brockway-truck-floor-seal/323089124112?hash=item4b399ccb10:g:vGUAAOSwvApaGzLh&vxp=mtr
  15. Maybe it's a training piece for that BMW service guy who didn't know what a choke lever is.
  16. Does anybody recognize what this piece is? https://www.ebay.com/itm/What-is-this-Mack-Truck-Bulldog-Item-Stainless-Cylinder-with-Nut-on-Both-Ends/122976108752?hash=item1ca1f280d0:g:jpYAAOSwnkdaiuFt&vxp=mtr
  17. What is the spline diameter on the good wheel? Mine is 1-1/32" inside, 1-1/16" outside.
  18. I bet those look cool at night with all the chicken lights.

    Work boots

I wear Red Wings; I found a style that is comfortable and lasts a long time (#953)...been buying them for about 15 years and I'm afraid to try a different brand.
  20. This is listed as a B71...I'm not an expert on the model numbers. Very interesting with a 1673 Cat in it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1955-Other-Makes-Mack-B-71-Mack-B71/232667836785?hash=item362c157171:g:UbIAAOSw-RFacxtD&vxp=mtr
  21. So you just pour straight brake fluid in the cylinders? I didn't know that would work.
  22. That's a good feeling when you get all the bent, rusted, worn pieces fixed and going back together with good parts.
  23. There should be 2 like buttons on that post!
  24. 68 degrees!!! That's crazy.
  25. Happy day and thank you very much!
