  1. dito on this go with eaton meritor combo ! once you buy Mack trans or auto you are stuck with it REAL expensive to repair once the warranties off and somthing gos wrong your done!
  2. Totally agree with that statement. If Cummins has done anything right it is the Insite program. Insite is a very impressive progressive straightforward piece of work for the most part! However If Volvo /Mack plans on using the ISX and the ishit/ mdrive as the only trans, this makes for a whole lot of room for buck passing when it comes down to warranty concerns. From what I have seen, when there are any kind of programing mishaps, there tends to be a NOT OUR PROBLEM attitude on both sides, and it leaves the customer and dealer hanging!
  3. Yup there working Real Hard at getting these Auto trans rigs out there ! Warrantied for 750000 miles what s the issue you say? Yes emissions are huge part of the reason this was rumored several years back where they were heading and why! It also puts another staple of or trucking industry EATON in a poor position !how ever they do offer their version of the auto trans! In the case of the I shift/Mdrive ,IF The Gets clutch worn out prior to the end of the warranty Its a customer pay item IT AINT CHEAP over twice the cost of a standard clutch YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE FLY WHEEL or the dam thing will not operate properly If it breaks out side the warranty you might just aswell walk away from that puppy! The trans price is WAY up there you'll leave the (dealership) that YOU are( NOW MARRIED to by the way Cause you have to reprogram the thing if you have replace anything ), They will have shook you down for 20000 bucks Or more before you leave the place.Gone is the owner operator as we know them!
  4. Yes You have to change the side gears in the diff! I ran into this years ago the splines are meant for the older full float axle!
  5. Well we're not alone!
  6. There are two positions for the stick shifts forward and center this can make a huge difrence in an R if you got a forward shift this would explain why
  7. Yes Colapse the spring and set the lash to 24
  8. dito
  9. three checks! check the throtle make suire it is going all the way to the end of its travel on the pump! 2 - check to be sure the stop cable is going full on! #3 Remove the bimbo slave from the pump and see if this changes your power situation it may be stuck out how ever as Glenn stated it needs air to operate!
  10. Hopfully just liner orings if thats the case you have 6 more to think about!
  11. Did it go bang?
  12. Kev Our decision makers are known for their Great decisions! Were just Dam lucky to get that unit! I would have expected them to order up 50000 mountain bikes with machine gun mounts on the handle bars for the guys to use ! Don't forget they did buy the english built subs for our navy! Some huge Military bargains out there you know! OH Wait!!! We had to part out one to make the other one work that's right! So do we have a SUB!
  13. Yup the dollar store fix! Volvo Trash!
  14. Timing advance solenoid in front the the pump is likely haywire! Also replace the line that feeds the solnoid if its old!
  15. It could be the AC switch and The solenoids are also prone to failure even new out of the box we have had a rash of bad ones lately Unplug the green AC switch and wait a minute or so if the fan shuts down that could b your problem.
  16. You have to do the cam swap to get the benefit power your doing away with the wasted fuel and some of the turbo lag ,the pre egr manifold will help a tad but not much
  17. plugged tank vent
  18. If I remember corectly its in the little fuse box under the hood Drivers side!
  19. Check the ecu fuse ! Did it light the either off? If not Did they have the front cover off!? Is it in time?
  20. Half fuel is normal! is your oil level rising ? the fuel transfer pump may be in its way out!
  21. WE have pulled almost 500 hp out of the little Mack E7 12 litre for years don't see why ya cant get 600 from a 13 litre! Other than the fact its a Volvo engine Not a Mack! The sales on the Titan were quite low However they need to offer the 16 litre in one of the other models to keep up. it needs to be an option There Are places here in BC were HP demand is high ! My opinion! They are systematically shrinking MACK market share, Obvious where this is going! The Vocational sector should have been left to the MACK branded units! Not that these Volvo people listen to anyone!
  22. Is the clutch brake set where its supposed to be? Right at the floor!! that is the most important first step that is sum times missed! If you set the gap and the brake is not set correctly the angle springs can be at the wrong angle to grip properly ! Depending on which clutch is in there! This is can be common Issue with an easy pedal clutch if not adjusted correctly! An over adjusted easy pedal may slip! Like 204 said It so it sounds like the clutch is simply worn out springs or lining rolling around inside!
  23. Do you have teck tool can you watch the temps the scr needs good heat to operate! Soot level good? Good preasure on the doser? All sorts of things can cause this stuff to happen Even a turbo issue , are you in a cold climate? if the heater stops working it will cause the scr not to work and wouldn't tell you why we ran in to this last week! I think Mackpro has got a good handle on this stuff He may chime in here shortly There are several guys here That may point you in the right direction I am not a guru on this crap!
  24. We have yet to see catylist failure Chances are you have build up of crystal at the inlet to the def cat box very common! pull it apart and look
  25. Drive shaft and stick
