  1. Swishys find is A Good one I like that! We should help em move! Sven and Ollie Need All the help they can Get! Volvo Trash
  2. My god people are are so silly everyone knows that box is located under the sun visor ! Common knowledge! GEEEEZZZ!
  3. I think you will find that they are identical !The cams are different!
  4. Rumor has it, is that ,Apparently if your towing you need to have at least 90 psi in the air system leave the key on and the trans in 3 gear Only rumor for me at this point! Others may chime in with better insite on the subject ! However Stick with Alice or standard if your Pebble packing or paving The M drive lends it self well to only a Road Trany in my opinion! Again MY opinion!
  5. Pull the side cover on the front as well and look at the gear set its likely toast as well!
  6. Good choice We NEVER put solos back in unless someone requests or insists! And I have only seen one ever make it to the worn out stage! they usually stop adjusting about half way worn and you got to replace em anyway! Just my observation!
  7. YUP Agree
  8. James AMEN to that ! (ELECTRIC) Pump like Them lucky cummins guys! Maybe we will get in tune with the 21 century at sum point!
  9. Ya need to see what codes ya got! No point in throwin parts at it till ya know what your shooten at! Point being here you need to start ruling stuff out ! IT Could be the throtle pedal glitchin , CODES or WHAT is the fuel pressure running at? put a guage in and drive Is it consistent? you could have a plugged tank vent . a bad drain back valve! floatie in the fuel tank ,a flapper in a fuel line ! OR And Don't laugh! Seen this at least three times > Rocks in a Primary filter elbow!!! Running out of fuel under load!
  10. My vote Is Positive! They held out to the 70s before changing! to negitive
  11. So You need to install a fuel pressure Gauge to find out OR replace the transfer pump! There is a fuel gallery plug on the front of the block just above the crank case canister lid you need to remove the lid to get to it! Fuel pressure can be between 60 - 100 no lower than 60
  12. Yup fuel pump gears have been a problem in the past! As long as you got no fault light ! I second Glens Comment!
  13. turday at 5:10 PM · Report post That is a pre-emissions engine, no EGR or anything. The only major issue to watch would be the cam, there were on again off again years with cam issues yup Amen to that~
  14. To remove the pump set the engine on its timing mark roughly 24 drgrees BEFORE TDC! Usually marked on the flywheel or the Damper on the front! Try Glens idea first coud be a stuck /pluged injector!
  15. Things to check! If The truck is equipped with a trans cooler and you*ve been loosing coolant check the trans for being over full (antifreeze in the oil will ruin syncros) Also check the yoke bolt be sure its tight also will take out the syncro!
  16. You will likly have to change the switch in the fuel pump Bolts to the rear of the pump at the top!
  17. Might as well make it worse it isn't that great now We can be even with everyone!
  18. Does the Check engine light come on when this happens?? If not then and you have a mack 18 sp trans There is a switch on the range cyl ( Or should be)( if not the wires will be there) that can cause the ECU To think the engine is in low it will cut the power in half if the wires re rubbed together or broken they could be causing you greif! Just another place to look Had this happen!
  19. Yup pricey Parts Are getting scarce And can be anything from a bad injector to a rod bearing to a dropped valve seat! All expensive with the exception of an injector You get the parts and send it up to Canada here I'd Love to work on it for ya! LOVE V8's
  20. Most everyone else (paccar ,freightliner and the like ) have been using this setup for quite some time volvo/mack is just catching up! Just like they will likley be changing the fuel system to common rail at some point! they were leading edge at one point they have fallen behind somewhat !

  22. Yup Now we got more room to put more junk on the frame for the next round of emissions standards. Great!!!
  23. Glen I was lead to believe That The dynatard Cam would still work on a jaked engine (I could be wrong on this ) How ever the jake model you quoted sounds correct But I beleive the turbo should be to be changed for the jaked engine At least I know there were two gauges to set em 85 thou and 80 thou for diffrent turbos! Had to set by turbo number.
