  1. Bud ! You really haven't provided enough info for us to help here! Give us some symptom these fuel pumps were prone to quiting when warm plug had issues Bla bla each have there own signature ,ECMs have been known to quit,Fuel starvation has its own symptom you didn't provide a symptom just an opinion!
  2. Sounds to me by your description that you Are suffering from compression getting into the cooling system! First thought would be low liner protrusion! the other thought is to much DCA testing the coolant and only adding it when needed is the solution if this is the case! Some engines were built on low spec 19 to 23 thou The ideal spec is 25 to 28 thou!
  3. Note what happens when u turn the key on! Doesn't the heater fan operate? If not you have a bad accessory relay.
  4. Ac Cam helps do away with that slugish lag and smoke on take off !the exhaust manifold is still horribly restricted pouring more fuel in is not the greatest with out more air just my opinion ! The cam it self will help that is proven.from my prospective .
  5. You also may want to check fuel preasure it may be running out of fuel should make 20 psi plus to run proper under load!
  6. Take It at the flange
  7. Yup the lever has springs holding it in each direction look closely at it if there is a gap where the springz contact the lever replace the lever How ever by what your describing it my be worn internal governor parts,
  8. The ac cam fits same. And keep your ecu
  9. We have a truck in our shop right now both heads are off cause the injectors were stuck in the holes no# 3 and number five! Both centre cyls my guess is your injection shop guys hit the nail on the head! Had a porta power on em and they would not budge!Leaky injector sleaves
  10. Do you have a poping sound in the intake? You may have a failed lifter!
  11. It may be the diff ! We had one that did this! if it has a Mack limited slip diff they tend to pop and bang in certain conditions!
  12. Can't be done find a fuller rto for it you'll thank your self
  13. I think you will find the ecu runs the engine brake directly on this era of truck! no relays! Is there power showing up at the valve cover? also some newer stuff didn't let the brake work till oil temp reached 150 !
  14. The the transfer pump can be an issue ! They do fail! also check the tank vent!
  15. Yup Post your fixes so others may benefit by your gained knowledge
  16. Dynatard was run from a relay via the governor housing no clutch switch! You will need remove the wire at the dash switch and run a wire from the dash switch down to the pedal switch and back to the wire that you remove from the dash switch! Im not sure if it operates to ground or is powered however this should still work for ya!
  17. You and everyone else! If your pulling any kind of weight with these older trucks your up for endless issues ! VGT Crap is just one of many issues!
  18. yup amen on that one! Post what if anything you find When you get done then people can send you in the right direction!
  19. 16 inlet 24 exhaust 15 on the jake
  20. first try cleaning the flywheel sensor by the clutch arm! then Try replacing the cam sensor the front of the engine at one point there were issues with the front cover of the engine flexing!
  21. Did you Try what Glenn posted? That will show up any leaks you have even if it was a compressor I have seen em dump boost out the air drier under certain conditions ,not often but have seen it!
  22. You will have to rewire the whole truck change the engine and vehicle ecu But if your good at wiring go for it! anything is posible if you got time and money otherwise that year would not be worth the effort!

Is it a constant poping noise? Can be caused by broken lifter .broken rocker bolts, broken rocker shaft or bent push tubes!
  24. Good advice Glenn. Good explanation too ! most Guys just check the cooler and that aint enough .Check the whole engine and get the whole story !!! A common leak is the the compressor inlet on some of the engines depending on how its plumbed !That wont get picked up by testing just the cooler! And put 30-35 psi to it more is better! So What trans do you have?
  25. Glenn in my opinion It is a little low I believe 25 to 30 wouldn't be out of the way for a 400! First IS the gauge correct? Next are you trailing smoke while pulling? If so! If you have a a pyro it should be staying around or under 1100 deg max when pulling if not check the air filter and check for boost leaks ! If you have a 18 sp Mack trans unplug the torque limit switch at the rear upper range cyl see if this helps the situation!
