  3. Thanx Bud that would have done the trick read the post ahead of this my project went a bit sideways. Our block ( was) a serial 8F0058 Thanx fred
  4. Yup warrenty don't pay for stupidity def in the fuel is expensive as well
  5. Oh well, if people are lucky enough to stumble onto this site, they will receive as much help as we can give them with our background and others of us guys who have been with the original company, and those who have dealt with the real product for years. They won't likely be totally stranded. Even if Volvo may have turned their back on them, we won't.
  6. So we finally got the engine tore down today and unfortunately the block is toast this engine has never been pulled down. there were beads from the factory block cleaning process thru out the block number 5 and 6 the upper oring groove was totally gone haven't seen this in years used to see this back when you could still get warrenty for it. 40 year warrenty coverage do they offer this? Probably not?! We are now scrounging up another block we will se how this goes.
  7. We found it luckily in one of our parts BOOKS!!! The buffoon's have moved or removed as Mackpro said ! I guess they dumped the E Literature on this subject deeming It unnecessary Rubbish I suppose!!!! duno!?
  8. Ya I was hoping you would be able to find it gues they don't want us working on old stuff might put the new stuff to shame . Oh wait it already has!! maybe carbel2 will chime in best investigator on this site!
  9. We are rebuilding our show dog it packed up a rod bearing and I need to find the Liner oring TSB Anyone know where to find this document! The liner o-rings changed by engine serial number Back in the day And I want to be sure I'm using the correct o-rings Thanx Fred
  10. Amen
  11. Solenoid Valve won't be cheap if you can live with it do so you could trynew orings on the valve if you can find some .these are dandy little engines and worth keeping running.
  12. Under the front valve cover
  13. If it has timing control try unplugging it the orings sometimes give grief if it stays smoky with the timing unplugged you either got to repair the solenoid or unplug it totally and set the timing to 16 or so deg btdc its quite an involved process drain the coolant remove the cover pop the gear lose from the pump and reset the motor to 16 and put the gear back on the pump
  14. Obviously, Liking and proving are two different things ,Ya need to re install the injectors on the bench and see if they protrude differently on the failed hole! Sounds like you've tried everything else! The washer is the thickness of a dine you likely would have noticed but worth looking!
  15. If a guy were to compare piston tops you would likely see if you have doubled up on washers by the spray pattern the spay usually hits right at the bowl corner. If it was fueling you would think you would have had pound (fuel knock) but ya never know!
  16. Yup Good for a look as well Glenn Let us know what you find!
  17. Id Be interested to know! Post If you find out!
  18. What they need to do is put a proper fuel filter on the frame BEFORE sucking dirty fuel thru the dollar store fuel line at the tanks and into the cooler plate . Adding more junk to the filter head just complicates the already poor design! 2 speed water pump Great idea this way we can get rid of the 100 dollar thermostats And replace a 1500 dollar Behr viscous electrically controlled water pump when it or its module fails instead Electric FANS Next I suppose ! Innovation at its finest!
  19. Are you sure that the no# 5 sealing washer came up with the injector and is not being left in the injector hole each time if the injector is too high (DOUBLED UP WASHERS ) it will be spraying to the outside of the piston! just a thought!
  20. Buy the old style green buzzer and wire in a low pressure switch at or near the air governor will save you about a grand ! 1
  21. PAI May Have stuff We just ordered Liner and piston kits For and E9 they had lots! check with them!
  22. On newer unit s it is also tied in to the vehicle stabilization program it operates the front brakes and dials back the throttle if you go to fast into a corner more Teck stuff.
