  1. If it is still building air its likely a lifter failure I believe the compressor inlet it plumbed into the inlet manifold on that year
  2. Yup we've sold quite s few titans here it's a shame to loose the only heavy haul beast we got duno what or if we can replace it we need a heavy unit and the horse power for this area! Its truly A shame they are heading this direction We have some pretty loyal customers here some I have Known for going on 35 years ! Another shame is IF they do Revamp a truck for heavy haul the only power source that will be available Will be the ISX Cummins we will then be in the middle of the its not my problem its your problem game BUCK passing crap that goes on when programing issues come up! And no one accepts responsibility For! All THE CUSTOMER wants is his truck to work! We a then are caught in the middle of this BS AGAIN !
  3. Don t wait to long to have it looked into! Keep us up to date so others can benefit from your findings!
  4. Vmac 2 is one ecm but you still need the harness
  5. Nope THE RD is a tough unit Cams sometimes fail Rocker bolts sometimes break on the newer engines with power leash! I recommend replacing ALL the unit pump bolts if you got the bucks Get the proper bolts from the dealer!
  6. You can give the wd forty penetrating oil thing. it is possible to to free up by removing the pin from the actuator and put needle nose Vice grips on the lever and try and get it working back and forth to free it up IF you do have to go that route and it works out for you. you may need to go back to the dealer to calibrate the vgt How ever if this don't work for ya In my opinion your best to go the two year warrenty route install the turbo your self its a heavy lump by the way! You still are well advised to take it to the dealer recalibrate it! Just my to cents
  7. Not normal! just happens some times!
  8. Thanxz for the post MP No MP I hadn't seen that . All I got to say is what took them so long we've been having issues with this for three years or more All models ! As for the price this may be a record as well we have been repairing them with out the tools for so long they better make it worth while !Ya got to do what ya got to do!
  9. Another indicator related to slaves is more frequent regens if the set gets real bad!
  10. Try a 9/16 flat washer it will likly cut the smoke to a resonable level!
  11. this is common It will likly just screw out replace the orings and the bolts good to go
  12. Its Possible the engine brake slaves are coming apart they are screwed together and some times they work loose! The only way to tell is to remove the vCover and check the valve set if the brake adjustment has tightened up then you got to lift the rocker shaft and check the slaves.
  13. I would try swaping and injector hole to hole before anything DO NOT pull the pump segment the pump has to be done a a proper fuel shop!
  14. Imagine what this will do to part prices for the existing mp10s Volvo stands to make an even bigger bag of money off that situation! They Can make up for the lack of sales in that department!
  15. dito on this go with eaton meritor combo ! once you buy Mack trans or auto you are stuck with it REAL expensive to repair once the warranties off and somthing gos wrong your done!
  16. Totally agree with that statement. If Cummins has done anything right it is the Insite program. Insite is a very impressive progressive straightforward piece of work for the most part! However If Volvo /Mack plans on using the ISX and the ishit/ mdrive as the only trans, this makes for a whole lot of room for buck passing when it comes down to warranty concerns. From what I have seen, when there are any kind of programing mishaps, there tends to be a NOT OUR PROBLEM attitude on both sides, and it leaves the customer and dealer hanging!
  17. Yup there working Real Hard at getting these Auto trans rigs out there ! Warrantied for 750000 miles what s the issue you say? Yes emissions are huge part of the reason this was rumored several years back where they were heading and why! It also puts another staple of or trucking industry EATON in a poor position !how ever they do offer their version of the auto trans! In the case of the I shift/Mdrive ,IF The Gets clutch worn out prior to the end of the warranty Its a customer pay item IT AINT CHEAP over twice the cost of a standard clutch YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE FLY WHEEL or the dam thing will not operate properly If it breaks out side the warranty you might just aswell walk away from that puppy! The trans price is WAY up there you'll leave the (dealership) that YOU are( NOW MARRIED to by the way Cause you have to reprogram the thing if you have replace anything ), They will have shook you down for 20000 bucks Or more before you leave the place.Gone is the owner operator as we know them!
  18. Yes You have to change the side gears in the diff! I ran into this years ago the splines are meant for the older full float axle!
  19. Well we're not alone!
  20. There are two positions for the stick shifts forward and center this can make a huge difrence in an R if you got a forward shift this would explain why
  21. Yes Colapse the spring and set the lash to 24
  22. dito
  23. three checks! check the throtle make suire it is going all the way to the end of its travel on the pump! 2 - check to be sure the stop cable is going full on! #3 Remove the bimbo slave from the pump and see if this changes your power situation it may be stuck out how ever as Glenn stated it needs air to operate!
  24. Hopfully just liner orings if thats the case you have 6 more to think about!
  25. Did it go bang?
