  1. Look for a burst after cooler hose or cracked after cooler
  2. If you haven't got it running yet , All I can suggest is blowing everything off and checking the ecu fuse
  3. you got a huge job ahead getting fenders and stuff out of the way! That engine is likley tang or tab driven it also has a master dowel
  4. it is a master spline or tab drive depending on the age! you cant get it out of time unless you force it! three or four bolts and the lines and whet ever else is in the way and you off!
  5. Sounds pretty much the case see if you can find a good used or have it repaired by a fuel shop in your area!
  6. Does the engine have a robert bosch inline fuel pump? if so you may have a delivery valve washer that is cracked! If you replace the injector and still find you have a miss You may have to stop by an injection shop to have it fixed!
  7. Reliable the 427 has a flatter torque curve I beleive! the engine it self is basicly the same! good unit!
  8. yup kinda got off track Sorry!
  9. They are correct in that its better than wasting money on a guess! but those pumps do have a bit of a track record . NAH Lkley the worst you'll have to do is pull the EUP Pumps!
  10. Popping can be a lifter failure as well. Pull the pan and check the lifters !
  11. Good unit what mileage ?
  12. Do you have Teck tool ? Is the fuel preasure ok ?
  13. Yup ! If it were Injectors it would likely leak out the fuel lines! There is no fuel return on the newer injection set up!
  14. Sorry I just like the simple approach !
  15. This is the End then totally Volvotized! Yet another nail in the box ! Well it took longer than I thought I predicted 5 years ,10 years ago they doubled plus some thats a pretty good Run! How ever maybe the Scania Guys will let us have the V8 So we have something different than the volvo trashers! Hydralic clutch linkage here we come! Just another pet peeeave
  16. New Cab next year or you retire next year? Or Both?
  17. that much fuel is likely coming from fuel transfer pump seal EUp orings is a less common but possible spot!
  18. Unfoutunatly you and I are on the same page on most things mindset wise in reguards to the new Mack leader ship. unfortunatly were stuck with it love it or hate it. It's here and we still have our cab left . 🙄
  19. Wow I though I'd get shot for saying that! :-)
  20. At the risk of getting flamed I must say the integrity quality of the reman stuff has gone down hill in recent years very sloppy workman ship and loose specs we have had some bum heads (bad Valve guides) bum injectors just to mention a few your better off to find a decent local machine shop where you can control the out come of your project. Or try the sites suggested !
  21. I got a feeling it may be lifter bits the one copper looking one looks like the gasket that seals the delivery valve in the fuel pump! you would have a miss if it were failed I would pull the pan and check the lifters!
  22. Have you had a turbo go in the last while could be thrust washer from turbo failure
