Mack Inverted Camel Back Suspension

I don’t remember the 97QL trunnion number, but the trunnion insulator was 10QK130P1, not the later 10QK219P1 or P2.

Although they rode like a Cadillac, they squatted under load, hence it was replaced.

Possibly it was a heavy enough suspension for the one way payload and then running empty didn't beat the driver, truck or tank too badly?

If you put 58,000 on that suspension you would bottom out the springs on the pavement!!🤣🤣   terry:MackLogo:

Pretty sure it was 34,000 lbs rating only.  Mack used  SWDL75,  SWDL751,  SWD75 or SWD751 as the bogie model identification for the inverted camel back suspension.

Every so often there are brochures for Mack suspension that show up on ebay but I don't remember one for the inverted.  The Mack Trucks Historical Museum should have some info that could be faxed?

Nothing recent but I did have a B-42 on the inverted "Camelback" suspension back in 1977. It did ride quite well in a straight line but this one needed rebushed terrible so was sloppy in road manners and braking was very "clunky" upon initial application. I have two B-61 tractors with 34k "Camelback" which are tight and the ride would be what I'd say is comparable to the two suspensions. It is much softer, and better in ride quality than the 38k R models I currently have.
