1975 u686 - $7500 (north bloomfield)

1975 mack U686ST previously owned by a fire dept. I bought it for a lowboy tractor and just don't need it .It is powered by a mack 300, with a fuller 13 spd. trans the susupension is 38,000 lb. mack camelback . The tires and brakes are like new . The truck is good condition for its age with just under 105,000 miles showing .

Nice. My dad owned a U model just like that. He wanted to convert it to a form truck for carrying foundation panels. The economy tanked (late '80s/early '90s) and he ended up selling it.

I'd like to own an R model from the '70s or '80s someday.

by the looks of that sheet metal screwed patch on the back of the cab it could stand to be recabbed again and 5 spoke hubs are usually 34,000 rears not 38's. still unique with a 285 in it and roadranger

It looks like it had a 5 speed originally by shift pattern on dash. Anyone know reason why Mack did not use the extended (deeper) cab on U-Models after 1972 like they did on the R and DM Models ? Thanks Joe D.

5 spokes are 38s too. 44 and up seem to be 6

I put that 13 speed in. Was a rebuilt unit.
