  1. Yeah it's a bit muggy down hear in the Banana Belt. But we'll take it. Scenery isn't bad cold beer tastes good. And it much better than dealing with snow. Bout time warm weather got here. Happy May 24.
  2. Actually the crazy part is when I go to the Mack dealer for parts and they run the VIN# the build date on the truck is 1985 and it's a Glider and wasn't registered till 1989 so that part sucks. If there was only a way to get the owner ship date changed to the build date.
  3. I went to two different Service Ontario offices and got the run around on plating my truck for shows. How are the guys pulling fifth wheel campers and toy haulers behind big trucks plating their trucks. Both places told me I need to get a CVOR for them to give me a plate. Can you still get a temporary trip permit for 10 days? I don't want to spend huge money to plate the thing for 2 weekends out of the summer. I may end up just using a friends Dealer/Service plate if worse comes to worse. Even thought about just pulling the plates off my pickup for the day. I have insurance on the truck. How much shit will I get in for switching plates I don't have to do any big highway driving to get to either show or go anywhere near a scale. Any of you guys from Ontario have any advice on how to do this as legal like as possible. Lol!
  4. Pull the pan and pressure test the cooling system. That's the only way to find it. If it's never been touched the o rings on the sleeves could be dried out. I had an electrolysis problem with one of my E9s and all the sleeves on one bank got pitted and one leaked antifreeze but it never went in the oil I found it on the blow by tube. On mine so if the rings are still tight in yours I'd bet money it's an o ring rather than head gasket. Could be your oil cooler but usually they put oil in the rad. But you won't know till you pressure test it.
  5. Yup 866 375 HP V8s were silver. 865 325HP V8s were gold.
  6. Sorry guys couldn't make it down to MATS for the yearly tradition. Had a mandatory safety meeting for work on Saturday morning. Sneakers and I tried to talk our way out of it but the boss said it was mandatory since he had booked a DOT officer to preach to us about load securement. I didn't learn a darned thing I haven't already been practicing on a daily basis anyway but we got breakfast and lunch out of the deal so it wasn't a total wash, but would've rather took the trip down to Kentucky instead. Hopefully we get down next year.
  7. Usually videos like that have a a Swift truck in them. Lol!
  8. Yeah we put a switch on the airline to the puff limiter on an E9 400 my dad had. All you need to do is shit the air supply to it off.
  9. A stock E9 is still far superior to anything in the road today. Once you've drove one for any length of time you'll hate driving anything else. I'd check the timing a set the valves first but if you do a few modifications which is fine too. Just keep up on regular maintainance and drive it right and it will last you a long time.
  10. Yes that's an MH Ultraliner bumber, but it will bolt on a Superliner, only difference is it has the cut outs for the steps in it. And I'm sure a little elbow grease and it would polish up like new.
  11. That would be good to put my extra E9 in. Try calling the name and number on the door, I guess.
  12. I rented the seal tool from my Mack Dealer when I put one in my E9. That same tool does E6 E7and E9. I wouldn't try puttin a rear main seal in without the tool too hard to keep straight without tool. You'll ruin the seal without it. I wish I would have had a friend take some measurements off the tool I remted so he could make me one, because that tool is around $700 to buy here because I priced one out. I wanted to buy one but not at that price.
  13. You're right Jeff. Savon had that thing for sale on Truckpaper for a couple years and was asking a fortune for it. And I think it is put together out of a few kind of trucks. It's a Superliner II cab and hood Cummins engine and not sure what they used for a frame but I don't think it was Mack.
  14. Alex you seem to stumble on some of the best finds . Good job saving it from exporter. You were wondering if Superliner speedo is the same as R Model. Yes they are. Most R Model Superliner interior dash gauges etc. will work. Those wide battery box lids for Superliner and Ultraliner MH.
  15. Glad to hear it's going to a good home Bobo. Hate to see you get rid of it. Your going to miss that E9 though.
  16. Can't believe you're going to part with it Bobo. Are you switching jobs or just stretching your legs more now that you need a bunk truck now?
  17. Glad to see our clubs publication is getting out. There's a few of us Ontario Canada BMT members are also Great Lakes Truck Club Members. The magazine is great always good stories in it. And the number of shows and events and members grows all the time I think it's up over 250 members. The big show at Clifford in June always has around 200 old trucks at it.
  18. That sure don't look like my UPS driver either! I'd sure like to try her hot sauce.
  19. Yeah I'm highly doubtful it would meet our emission standards here in Canada either. Plus it would be hard to find places that would carry the grade of fuel that thing would run on around here.
  20. Merry Christmas BMT friends!
  21. Ok I wasn't aware that things were changing. Thanks for the info. I'll have to ask my friend that does my safeties what info he knows.
  22. I haven't had one in a truck for quite some time but they were common till about 10 or 15 years ago. E logs and satellite units took the place of tachographs. I have a brand new tachograph in the box in my collection of goodies up in the shop. Anyone looking for one?
