  1. that air throttle was a nice set up when it works, we had a CL and and MH with it . Can't say I ever experienced what yours is doing mine either worked or it didn't we had to drive both of them home with the hand throttle because the piston on the pedal went . Since it does it when the compressor is pumping it sounds like an air problem is there little pilot Balve or a regulator between the tank and the pedal in the supply line ? I dont remember it's been a long time since we had ours.
  2. I was drooling over that thing while viewing truck paper the other day . Looks like a pretty good truck for the money. Definitely looks better with the stock visor. And those Freightliner wheels gotta go !
  3. Here's my submission just in case . Lol !
  4. That sounds like a good show down there, never been to it. Saw lots of clips from it back when I used to get Classic Tractor Fever on Satelite TV.
  5. Yellow jeep is real nice but I have to admit BMT favourite colour is red !
  6. Mine was or is a 92 E9 450 Robert Bosch inline pump stock except for an ajustment on the fuel plate and aneroid valve a bit this engine was and isn't a smoker unless you lug the crap out of it . I still have it its in my 89 Superliner now back then it was in a 92 MH613 and at the time I was hauling steel for a bit it was a fairly fresh rebuild on this engine. The MH was in a wreck shortly after and kept that engine and put it in my Superliner . I only use it for show now it's still low mileage I do get the itch to hook on a big load and try it out though.
  7. They shine with about a 140,000lbs gross wt climbing a long grade . You just haven't went truck'n till you've had that experience of heavy load on a long hill and passin everyone . There's nothing like it. I used to like coming up the Niagra escarpment out of Hamilton Ont. Hauling steel 85, 000 plus pounds on the deck of my six axle used to drop one gear in my 15 spd over and shed he'd t down to around 1650 rpm and hold it there she'd get down to 50 mph . I'm guessing it's probably close to 2 miles but a lot of trucks go up there a lot slower with less weight.
  8. You can drive it without the speedo hooked up. Could be the speedo itself or the adapter on the teams I have had to do both before but if the cable turns with the speedo unhooked it'll be the speedo if it don't turn check the adaptor on the tranny .
  9. I had an earlier one that was direct .
  10. Changed to 50wt synthetic oil , put new slave valve and plunger pin in last week took it up the road and back a couple times is working like it should now . 4th gear is a bit touchy still but I'm going to wait till cooler weather to pull the tower off and play with that part.
  11. Changed regulator put some more air tool oil in the supply line coming out of regulator, and drained 80w90 gear oil out of tranny , re filled with 50 wt synthetic tranny oil . Seems much better only took it to a short trip to the corner and back because I don't have a plate on it at the moment hoping when I take it to the show up a St Thomas next month. It will free things up .
  12. Ok. Thanks, I was wondering if 80w90 was too heavy for it. I'll give the 50 wt a try. Thanks.
  13. Put a bunch more air tool oil through it. Seems much better, got another regulator I'm gonna put on and make sure it's getting 65 psi through it. . I took it out tonight up and down the road a few times, it was better at first but got lazy again , gonna keep playing around with it, it's not a daily driver so I'm gonna play with it more and try and get things freed up. What weight of gear oil should you be running in it? I have 80w90 in it right now with a couple quarts of Lucas with it. Just wondering if it should have something different in it . The slave cylinder gets lazy after it moves and you need to play with it putting it in different gears to get it to go from low to high and back quick and smooth again.
  14. Thanks Truckshop. I went out to the shop and took the line off after the regulator again like I did in the spring and put more air tool oil in it. It seems to be quicker now I might take it out tomorrow if I get done work early. I don't doubt it could be a regulator issue also. When I was putting the truck together I had an issue with some off shore Taiwan go imitation Fuller parts from my one parts supplier. I had the shifter knob itself being no good from the get go so I ended up paying a bit more getting a real Fuller one at Mack dealer. The regulator was also a cheap imatation so it could vey we'll be my issue. For the sake of 2 airlines and 2 bolts and a few minutes to do it I think I'm going to try and get a real Fuller one for what it's worth. The tranny is a RTX 15715 .
  15. It's slow to go from lo to hi when going up through the gears you have to let the rpm s drop right down to 1100 for it to go into 6th. Then when you go back from hi to lo you need to almost come to a stop sometimes. I tried the air tool oil in the spring. You need to move the button from lo to hi and back before you move. Maybe it needs a kit put in the slave cylinder.
  16. Looking for you guys opinion on this. My Superliner is a glider originally it had an 866 V-8 with a 12-spd and 4:17 rears on 11R24.5 rubber. When I rebuilt it after the accident, I put my E9 in it with a 15-spd Fuller and newer Eaton rears on hub piloted wheels 3:90 on 11R 22.5 rubber. Used to run 68 MPH at 2100rpm before. Now with this drive line, I do 68 MPH at 1700 rpm. I'm thinking this 15-spd is an overdrive. I know the 12-spd was a direct. The 15-spd is giving me grief. I think it might have got done in when it was towed with the driveshaft still hooked up? It's extremely sluggish going from lo to hi range and worse from hi to lo and has something not right with 4th gear. It doesn't slide in like it should I have a line on a couple of newer 12-spd overs. I'm thinking of switching. What do you guys think before I go trying one and cutting down a perfectly fine driveshaft? If not I was thinking of a 13-spd Fuller since I have the bell housing for the Fuller already. I'm kinda looking for something with a shorter space between top gears and I know the 12-spd will be similar to the 15-spd. Plus it's only a hobby truck so I'm not going to spend a fortune. I doubt the 15-spd I have would be a cheap fix. What do you guys think?
  17. Yeah a lot of the folks up in Fort Mac have already been experiencing tough times, a lot are Kaye's off from the oil fields , cost of living in outrageous up there , and a lot can't afford the roof over there heads let alone keep insurance and n it. Our retard Prime Minister is more involved keeping the Syrian refugees happy than helping the people in the country he leads.
  18. Sweet. I love it those old British bikes.
  19. There are a couple places in the US that can make new liners for you.
  20. She still runs 35 to 40 at an idle and 80 when you run it just like it always has so oil pressure seems to be ok. I've had issues with cooling nozzles in other engines before and oil pressure did drop. The pieces identicle They look like a cross between buck rivet and a grease sert. But are solid on the one end.
  21. Haven't figured it out yet. They re solid on the ends so I don't think they're from the piston cooling nozzles. They sure look like the mushroomed end off of some kid me of rivet. That's what's puzzling me. They don't look like a Ke anything from the inside of the engine.
  22. Yeah they don't even look like anything I've ever seen inside the engine. Look like ends off of rivets but I don't remember anything with rivets inside when we had it torn down. That why I think they could be from a foreign source.
  23. I'm wondering if they came came in the oil or were in the Car Quest oil filers. May have been some shrapnel left behind from a bunch of damage caused in an accident a few years back.
  24. Found these two funny looking l little critters on the oil drain plug in my engine . Any ideas as to what or where inside they may have came from. They look like pieces from rivets? Look like aluminum but stick to a magnet. Everything seems to be working fine but the curiosity is killing me.
