  1. Hi, I'm Jake.. I love old Mack's. Trucking is in my blood. My great-grandfather drove truck. My grandfather had Mack's, and now my father and uncle have Mack's.. 4 of them to be correct. All superliners. We picked up this 1989 RW753 from a relative who basically let the truck rot in a barn for the last 15yrs. Since tearing into this truck I have learned one thing. I never truly appreciated how out well our trucks were maintained, until I began this. The truck is your basic Michigan special. It has a 3406B, 13spd, 44k lb Mack rear ends, 20k lb front axle, etc.. I"ll update with pics in a bit
  2. I have a 1985 Mack Superliner for sale. Even though it is a 1985 model it has a 1997 R cab and a Kenworth aerodyne sleeper on it because the truck was laid over in '97 and we put a new cab and different sleeper on it. It has a clean title NOT a rebuilt title. It had an E9 but I took it out for something else. It has a remack 2100 "Ten Speed" in it and has 3.65 rears with the three leaf style suspension. The transmission and rears are still in good shape and were working fine when i pulled the motor out. Truck also has a wet line on it. Located in NC. $4,500.00 OBO If interested PM me or call me 704-473-9628.
  3. The Millionth Mack doing what it does best best. Working! Skip past a couple of off brands. http://forums.justoldtrucks.com/3778/OLD-TRUCKS-STILL-EARNING-THERE-KEEP
  4. For a Superliner 1985 RWL vin#1m2u215y1fm001185 any know the part number for the two rubber bushing/ isolaters on the radiator support rods? Mack gave me 25158186, 20ql252p7, 20ql231p5 which does not make any sense since there is only a top and bottom. I asked for the hood welting and the gave the part number for center cab vent hood seal 25162648. I cant cross these to anything and they are $20 each.
  5. I see here if someone mentions a E9 that is sitting or possibly for sale it sparked interest. I have talked to many Guys through the years and everyone seems to know where several are. I have know of whole running E9 trucks go for $2500 mostly MH's. I could have bought a daily driven MH E9 with a 48' flat deck for $4000 back 10 years ago in Ohio, didn't have a place to keep it. Bought a good low mileage 94 CL engine last year for $6000 with a good double airride frame and 20K beam, an OK deal. I had rears so I didn't need them. It is EZ to have $20K in a rebuild these days. More and more there are stories of broken E9 trucks getting sold and repaired. What are they getting sold for before being fixed? What is the going rate for these engines/trucks running or not? I have heard that a crank can go for $10K, head $2K, inj. pump $3K. Some whole trucks are going for less than $10K and everyone is looking for parts from what I see. Parts/engines are out there so where are they and what are they really worth?
  6. Saw this on IronPlanet, it sold for $8750. Looks like it is in good shape, but the description says it didn't start. The reason why it wouldn't start was not given. Item #586001 The computer wont let me add the link for some reason.... Looks pretty loaded too, air window, air ride passenger seat, full gauges and I really how the spot lights look. Anybody on here buy it or know anything about it? Thanks
  7. Now just need to save a lot more dimes to get the rest of it.
  8. Looking for information to swap my 1990 RW 713 from Hendrickson spring ride to a air ride.
  9. Anyone know who made the gauges generally installed in mid 80s R Models as in the attached picture? I am installing a new dash so will do the guages at the same time. Would be a lot easier if I can get new compatable versions to avoid changing fittings, senders etc. Does anyone have suggestions for where I can get some new replacements on line? Thanks

  11. Thanks to Fifthwheel for the hook-up on the Can-Am Bunk. Its in pretty good shape for sitting on top of a trailer for as long as it has. Fair price and loaded by crane to boot. It was a wonderful trip into Mass. and it was a pleasure to meet your friend Wayne and his son. Always a pleasure meeting more truck nuts...... Thanks again.

If interested check the following link out. I will also answer any questions about what is in the auction to the best of my ability. there is a 1984 superliner in pretty decent shape with an E-9 12 speed, neway air suspension, and small sleeper.
  13. I have a Superliner Aluminun bumper I don't think its ever been installed but its scratched up a bit from storage.$300U.S.
  14. Has anyone had success installing a sleeper on rails to an air ride R Model cab? I have seen that forum member Murranji is doing one but I really don't want to pull the R Model cab off again to mount the rail. Is there a way to mount some rails while leaving the cab mounted in the normal way? I have just spent considerable time repositioning my cab to a custom height and have had a walkthrough cutout done to suit a CH sleeper. Both cab and sleeper are painted and the next step was to mount the sleeper in a fixed position and attach rubber sock to the air ride cab. Have had delays with installers and now I am thinking I would prefer to have the sleeper attached to the cab instead of the chassis (with a couple of air bags at the rear of sleeper). The cab is sitting about 4 inches higher than standard so I have plenty of room underneath. Has anyone done this without pulling the cab off to mount it on a rail? Finally got everything in place and I don't want to go through that again - particularly given that cab is freshly painted. Any tips or photos?

  18. Anyone have a line on a sleeper similar to the factory sleepers installed on Mack Superliners??? Were they made by Able Body??? I have a decent sleeper to work with (Canadian Alumi-Bunk) (out of business) but want one with cut outs for the exhaust to be cab mounted with mufflers. Must be mid/highrise and at least 60" long and preferably over 86" in width Just need a good shell the rest I can handle. i priced a new one similar to below and we are talking $15,000. (Mama won't let me.....) Something similar to below would be optimal. Thanks.
  19. Hey Guys...... I'm looking for a SET of Superliner Exhaust stack brackets for the project if anyone can spare a set. If anyone has a lead on a couple of Crimson Red Elite Bostrom Air seats from a CH or CL Let me know. Condition of the seats can be so-so as I have had to reupholster them before and could do it again. (this model of seat is narrow and shallow) Thanks again...
  20. Hi, I hope you can help with a question. I am having a sleeper installed on my R Model and the installers need to know how the cab will sit with the cab air bag pumped up. Unfortunately I have no tanks or fuel lines attached to the truck as it has been stripped for painting so I can't start it. I don’t own a stand-alone compressor but could bring another truck on site and attach its air outlet to the R Model’s air tank. Do you think that will work to pump up the air bag or is it likely that a valve somewhere along the line will prevent the air from reaching the bag without the truck on? Otherwise I will have to just put a bottle jack under the cab and lift it to what I believe to be the operating height. Any other ideas? Thanks
  21. Hi, Can anyone with a RL/RS700, R700 or a RW Superliner let me know whether they have anything under the hood to help ease the hood down when lowering so it doesn’t come down with a crash on to the cab cowl. I don’t have anything at all under my RS700L hood to hold it in place when the hood is up. I can fix that problem by adding tethers from a R600. However, when lowering the hood on your own, it can easily get away from you and chip the paint on landing. Is there suppose to be something to slow down its descent? If anyone has any pictures of what they have under their long hood to help lower it (genuine or aftermarket), any pictures would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
