  1. Have to agree with the early 237 idea, terry
  2. Yes any 72 series with a 0 at the end is a double overdrive, either a TRT or a TRQ. Terry
  3. No 0 is a single overdrive in the back box, all triplex and quads are overdrive in the back box, A 0 like in a TRQ7220 is overdrive in the front, so there is your double overdrive. terry
  4. Try Manders diesel in Lakeville Minnesota, they parts out lots of macks. Terry
  5. I always thought the "adjustable" part was to keep moving the bottom thrust bearing upward as it wears to keep the axle beam from dragging on the spindle. terry
  6. Look at the engine pics. the frame is not tall enough for a DM, it is a U model. Terry
  7. You need to find a TRT1070 12 spd. They are about 12% overdrive, I had one in a DM with 4.17 rears, would run 65 mph at about 1600 rpms. terry
  8. Manders just outside of Minneapolis used to have a ton of mack cabs. terry
  9. With that mileage on the trans and engine with good servicing should last a real long time. terry
  10. Check the gasket around the vent in the roof. They will leak with age. terry
  11. you will split it open like a melon! Terry
  12. As Glen stated above don't beat in on the inside use the outside edge, you should also get a injector sleeve reamer to true everything up after it is in. terry
  13. I bet somebody already has put a diesel in it, look at that exhaust stack with that little muffler. terry
  14. I ran one for alot of years, never had a problem to speak of, just don't push it to hard. Terry
  15. A big block engine already mated to an automatic would be the best route to go. Terry
  16. 72 series is a direct tranny, a 720 is an overdrive. terry
  17. Look on the left side of tranny behind the fill plug should be a flat spot with some numbers, a TRT is triplex and a TRQ is a quad. Terry
  18. B75 is a non turbo mack engine a B753 is a turbo mack engine, a B73 is a non turbo cummins, a B733 is a turbo cummins, anda B773 is a turbo cummins. Gets pretty confusing! Terry
  19. Depends what you call against the govenor, i had a Dm with a mack 12 spd overdrive and with 4.17s 22.5 tires it would bury the 80 mph speedometer at 2300 rpm. terry
  20. Put a fitting on a five gallon can and set it above the pump and run a hose right to the injection pump, it will gravity feed it to where you want to go. terry
  21. Can't tell you for sure on the front mount, you should be able to compare them to see if they interchange, as for the flywheel housing, if the automatic one is different the one on the old engine MIGHT fit, if not it should not be to difficult to find one that will. Terry
  22. Might be pretty hard to find an exact replacement, you need to find a good 237 or also called a T675 engine, will fit right in there. Terry
  23. He has hit it dead on ! Terry
  24. Would think not much over 40 MPH. Terry
