  1. Yes you are totally right on that, I guess when i said peanut type i wasn,t thinking of the air power divider having the peanuts. I know the air ones sure work alot better than the non air ones. Terry
  2. If it is a air power divider and the drive shaft turns then something else is wrong, but if it is the peanut style it will turn if one axle is broken. terry
  3. Bigger tankeans more volume, a small tank might not have enough air to start a engine. terry
  4. There are no seals on the front of them transmissions,The cover is a real tight fit around the input shaft that has reverse threads that push the oil back, so if the pilot bearing or the input shaft bearing gets loose they can wear out the threads or score the cover and leak. terry
  5. might have come in it, get the build sheet from Mack museum that will tell you exactly what it was ordered with, I have seen B61's with the old style roadranger that they came with. terry

  17. That is a flathead engine i beleive, and to pull the head is pretty simple, sure would tell you a little about the engine condition. Sounds like the bottom end might not be to bad. terry
  18. On the side of the injection pump should be a supply pump with two fuel lines to it on the bottom side, on the top os two cap looking things with a copper washer under them, screw them out and there is a plastic check valve under each one. terry
  19. When they idle up and down, generally is in the governor. terry

  21. Alot of people don't realize all of the models there are, and think all of them are B61's Terry
  22. With a 35 year truck it would be hard to tell what all has been updated with the air lines, but would a 35 year old truck even have original plastic lines, most trucks that old ran copper didn't they. terry
  23. It is not just a bolt in job, unless you are familiar with a mack power divider it is hard to explain, the outer cam of the power divider has to be changed and it is held in with a large nut and you have to lock up the shaft to get the proper torque. And when you take the power divider assy. out you have to be careful and don't damage the shims for the ring and pinion, and yes the air divider is longer and drive line has to be shortened. terry
  24. Isn't the main shaft in that the same as a 5 or 6 speed? I think the main boxes are all alike. Terry
