I have come across a gearbox for sale stamped TR1070B. Can anybody tell me anything about this box? Is it a single stick 12 speed? Thanks in advance

I have never tried one of these but have heard good things. I have come across a 2 stick version and it would be good to hear some opinions on this box. Also, a few questions: Does anybody know the top gear ratio or was there more than one version? All I know so far is that it was matched to a 285 Coolpower from new. I am waiting for the model number. Is the later single stick 12 speed based on this box and, if not, is it worth waiting to find a later series single stick? How difficult would you rate this box to use as compared to a T2090/T2100. This truck is not in use every day but a driver may need to get behind the wheel now and then. Of course an Eaton would be more driver friendly but this truck was always "all Mack" and I would like to preserve that if I can find a decent box. Not to go on too much aboout it, but this is our first Mack and I don't ever want another T2090. We have bought an Eaton 18 speed for this truck but am looking for a convincing reason to go back to a Maxitorque. As always, any advice/opnions would be greatly appreciated.

Some of you have alreay helped with my queries that started in a thread on a 12 speed. To recap - I am looking for a Maxitorque to go behind an EM6. I have come across a 10 speed from an '83 R Model but there is no model number stamped on it. I have a T2090 and it has a very clear stamp so my thoughts are that it may not be a T2100. The number below is stamped on it. Any ideas? Any one have a TRDL1070 with these numbers on it? 284KB519OB OR perhaps 284K8519OB Hard to tell whether the 5th character is a "B" or an "8" Thanks

Hi, does anyone know if the T2100 has the same issues as the T2090? I have a chance to pick one up and I think it would suit what we use the particular truck for but am still haunted by the problems of the T2090 the truck was originally fitted with. I am told it is the same case as the T2090 so with some luck the original drive shaft can go back on. Any help would be appreciated before I commit. Would be good to ditch the Eaton and fit the gold dog again!!

Hi, I have a gearstick that has come loose and is spinning. It is a R700 with a T2090 with bent stick. I will be changing the box soon but need to be able to manouvre the truck until I am ready. Because of the bent stick, when the stick spins out of position, I can't get it in any gear toward the dash. I can take the floor of the truck out easily. Is there a way to tighten the stick from outside the box or is this something that needs to be attacked from the inside? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

bought me a 2006 MACK VISION CXN613 and need some advice and opinions
milton350 posted a blog entry in milton350's Blog
So I need some opinions and advice on my mack vision. Its got AC 380hp engine 10 speed maxitorque transmission 711,0000 miles on it Is 380 hp enough for hauling sand on end dump trailer? Im trying to find the torque range but I dont know how to find it. How reliable is this kind of truck? With 711,000 miles on it; what can I expect? Engine sounds smooth and smooth transmission as well. Only one owner.-
