  1. The B75 has more room to use the 237/285 engine but in a B61 you have to use the shorter water pump and the shorter crank hub. terry
  2. Check out the low ratios on your nine speed and compare to the six speed, the six speed is the same as your five speed with a low range. Also some six speeds have a even lower low range ratio. terry
  3. If the trans is in good shape it should last a long time with not lugging it down like you would do with a 5 or 6 speed.

  9. A popping noise in the exhaust when you let off of it can be a loose exhaust seat. They can run a long time like this. terry

  14. That era of macks were bullit proof, very little trouble with them!
  15. I believe if you take pump off with the adapter with the three adapter to block bolts it will only go on one way and not move timing, the 237 285 pumps are this way.
  16. Be sure to check the ground, some of the old macks are positive ground. terry
  17. Somebody will correct me if I am wrong, but when them govenors do this, I thing it is some worn bushings in the govenor. terry

  20. A 150 pound guage is way to big a 50 is plenty, and it will only build boost with a load on it.
  21. They will drop the face off the lifter once in awhile, also takes cam with it ! terry
  22. Should be a plug on top of intake manifold towards rear.

  24. Thats been on there before, quite the water truck! terry
  25. Wouldn't third axle loaded/no load be a lift axle control, and the rotary run/park is probably wiper control. terry
