  2. That era of macks were bullit proof, very little trouble with them!
  3. I believe if you take pump off with the adapter with the three adapter to block bolts it will only go on one way and not move timing, the 237 285 pumps are this way.
  4. Be sure to check the ground, some of the old macks are positive ground. terry
  5. Somebody will correct me if I am wrong, but when them govenors do this, I thing it is some worn bushings in the govenor. terry

  8. A 150 pound guage is way to big a 50 is plenty, and it will only build boost with a load on it.
  9. They will drop the face off the lifter once in awhile, also takes cam with it ! terry
  10. Should be a plug on top of intake manifold towards rear.

  13. Wouldn't third axle loaded/no load be a lift axle control, and the rotary run/park is probably wiper control. terry
  14. That engine is not to hard to drop pan and check bearings, then you know where you stand. terry

  16. They are not that tight, should be able to use a pipe wrench with no damage. terry
  17. I would hook everything back up and run it under a load for an hour then see if it has cleared up. terry
  18. Kind of surprised to see that small of a rear suspension, Does it look to have been changed? terry

  20. Is that on a dump truck or tractor, looks to be a 12.000 lb. axle. I have seen lighter axles on dumps have spindle failures. Especially if there is no lift axle. terry
  21. It probably is the same beam between a 10.500 and 12.000 axle, just different springs. terry

  23. I would like to see what you have for a tranmission! A double overdrive with 9.10 rears might run 50
  24. The B53's had eye and bolt on the end, later ones had the T leaf. I drove a dump for years with the old one, always kept a spare spring in my shop, got to where I could change it in a couple of hours. terry
