  1. Ohh... And where's a trailer?
  2. By the word 12R24.5's must be wider than 11R24.5's and not taller. Just found out recently 12R24.5's exist, haven't put my eye or hand on them yet.
  3. The most precision answer to your question might be recieved if you ask Goodyear on those tire's actual OD's wich used to be different of their size markings. Than do an easy math dividing your today's speed by less OD and multiplying with the lager.
  4. Oh, that all makes sence. Sounds like a home deal. By the word Norway is one of the best looking countries on my mind. And it looks like they have at least one Mack (haven't seen any more)
  5. Was it Kenworth warranty? Sounds not bad at all. Hope you didn't need to be worry about the trailer with the load just near the road. Didn't you?
  6. She's definitely a keeper. I know what you feel about. Had some luck many years back. But in my case I couldn't steer it down along the way. I'm just worry seeing you showed out the deal having it not almost done. The previous time we found out there were spies everywhere. Neat piece of rusty iron by the word
  7. Interesting to see, thank you for posting.
  8. Nice sceneries and leg road shots! How did you do about the turbo? Did it smoke terrible or just lost the power? Could you bobtail easier having no semi-anchor?
  9. I'm double it! look great And I'm too impressed seeing that gray chain driven dump monster.
  10. Looks like the day is perfect Some of the trucks seem to me familiar. What is the black with yellow RS near your pair?
  11. Waiting on pics !!!
  12. Digging in a junk yard than digging under the dash and around the engine... Sometimes $$$ turn out cheaper The best way to do is to find a truck with complete stuff in and then provide transplantation taking every part you need nearby and seeing how it must be fitted/drilled/covered/sealed etc. Highly recommended for both $$$ or own made way.
  13. Costs may be too different. Starting from a scrap price and up to big $$$ for top restored ones. Usually people like to buy resto projects for not expensive or ready stuff. Something with big investments but unfinished is difficult to get money back. Vlad
  14. Welcome! I'm from the different area than most folks on here, Too like Aussie Bulldogs. Vlad
  15. I'm also for 44's. Here's what I have on my 1945 NR. If you really want to fit baby moon's you may fabricate any bracket to put under hub cap bolts. They're long enough for. But I have neither ideas on where to find ready ones. Those caps are pretty high to be covered with crome covers though.
  16. That's cool Congrats on the purchase and good luck on the restoring!
  17. Keith, That's really interesting and rare find. Shure worth restoring, I think someone will buy it and take a care about. At least I hope. Thank you for sharing.
  18. Have a smooth flight guys! I hope to see you soon but in the different place.
  19. It just looks rough. And in many points is...
  20. Don't worry about comments of Russian trucks. I'm not proud of the stuff the plants produced overhere. Hope they're trying their best along the bad economy conditions although there are wide troubles about the thing we call "a culture of production". I mean lots of specialists and workers who aren't skilled enough. It increases cost too much with no good quality. Taking to account high level of corruption over all authorities including production management we have what we do have. As for me I too like many Russian vehicles of old ages but have not much want to restore any (with minor exceptions) due to their parts quality. Just not a stuff I enjoy to put my hands on. By the word the trucks you have seen transporting suppies to Ukraine (political show on my mind) have their generic from Mack. I was too surprized when kscarbel2 posted the story about that fact. They are branded KamAZ.
  21. Hope for a good turn out. I just don't understand everything sometimes. When there are many easy words like some one is "got off" and some thing is "back on" it's just too just for me to figure out.
  22. Just a pleasure to read the topic of how well the things go by GAZ. In the reality they always (at least last 70 years) had terrible level of quality, generally due to a low quality materials they used. Wich were determined (earlier) by Soviet govnt. politics because there were more important things than building vehicles for the industry - the army and space. Although those nowadays trucks and light trucks are doing lots of work all over the country having relatively low cost and easy to fix up design. That newer style cab they introduced not long ago is in the production now, I have seen it down the road just today. Thank you for posting news from my area.
  23. Wow, all that makes sence. I unerstood the general princip (and i's important!) although it looks like your truck has slightly different design than my one of 1988. I think it must have the same basic components such as a double-check and TP valves. But the brake light switch is not attached to the threadle or any other vavle. It is located on the firewall and attached to the plastic air line. That line is blindsideed (doesn't go to any other point excepting the switch) so I think it just starts from the same point as on your truck the switch is fitted in. Or something like that. By the time I don't work over my brake system but will do (at least I'm going to). Everything about air is ruined due to wide repairs using steel wire or screw clamps. Russian KamAZ rear chambers have their place and some of them are pretty leaking. Air ride bags aren't far from the brakes. I remember the list of "done" when you offered your R for sale. Should say you was doing it the right way. I mean repairs. Thanks again for a care about my light green beast. I don't have a manual for an R or any newer Mack (newer then 60's), that's why I have my knowlede limitated
  24. That doesn't sound good although the best thing we can do is to not do such things ourself and try our best. Sometimes I think though it's the worst to deal with idiots.
  25. There must be some special brake lines arrangement to allow the trolley valve bring pressure into the brake switch line, and if I understand correct, to the truck's chambers, but don't activate them Thanks you for the advice, I will remember your dad from time to time
