  1. Looks like a rip off of the Titan/Trident/Superliner. It does have an advantage though. Cummins engine offerings.
  2. It appears that the Hayes version was an F model on steroids. I wonder who made the earlier Hayes cabover that was bigger and boxier. Sort of like a bull nose KW with the nose flattened. I wonder why Hayes never used the R model conventional cab. The Hayes cab may have been aluminum.
  3. Volvo wake up. The heavy market has gone to Paccar Star etc. -Can't see Volvo ever competing-Mack could with the right options
  4. Why can't they make the Australian Mack's for the Canadian market. Seems like it would be a winning combination
  5. Luv that blue RB. They look great as a tractor. Some one bring back the R model. Please
  6. Another set of executive traitors being rewarded for selling off another piece of America. When is the dismanteling of Americas industrial base going to stop?
  7. Boy would that look good pulling a covered wagon. Drool Drool! Could always throw a 237 or 300 maxidyne in if the 325 dies. May be hard getting parts. Would look good in Overnite colors. Central Wisconsin red and black also.
  8. If you look closely at the F model it is probably a Budd cab. I believe Mack built these in house. I wonder if Mack had an agreement with Budd on the F model. The Bottom panel of the F model might have come from the G and H model design. Just speculating.
  9. Vinny that U model is a spicy meatball. Very tasty I candy. They were a real fleet workhorse in the day along with the F models.
  10. Does anybody get the impression that there are more R models running around ILL and IND than any were else.
  11. F!!!!!!!!K Vo_)(*&^%$#@lvo!!!!!!!! IMHO of course. Why not let Mack management make decisions for Mack. Volvo can always use the Obama pen.
  12. Put this in odds and ends instead of other truck makes. I guess I need a nap.
  13. The White Road Boss thread brings up a point. Mack started the B series in 1953. About the same time the White 9000 small cab was started and then latter about the mid sixties the A car cab was started. Mack and White sales were pretty close at the time. I wonder how White 9000 small cab compared to Mack B's 50,000 plus. Also I wonder what the comparison was of R Model Sales to White A car cab and Road Boss series. I know the R model had a longer run than the 4000/9000 series. Discounting the RD's they may have been pretty close. Also Ford's Louiville line may have been close to White and Mack during the 70's and 80's.
  14. :)Illinois flatland hard to tell one intersection from another after a while.
  15. Mater would look good in former Celli trucking company colors out of northern Illinois. Grey cab, green fenders and red striping. There are some pictures here on site under Chicago Macks (57 BCR-AL). Wish you continued success. Glad to see that it is going to be a working truck again.
  16. Cat makes numerous v models though not for highway trucks anymore. They make 3500 HP V's for locomotives, generators, mining trucks and other construction equipment They also now own EMD Locomotives and their line of v engines 2 cycle 645's and 4 cycle 720' s
  17. That would be Yarmouth Lumber. Lets say that was a 1992 for Ha Ha's. That would be 22 years ago X ~ 20'000 trucks per year = ~ 500,000 trucks. Kenworth should pass Mack in ~ 20 years. I still see Yarmouth Mack Pinnacle axle backs in Ct from time to time.
  18. Wow state money put to good use. Probably 1/4 the money of a new trational or sheker
  19. I remember seeing up close back in my Illinois days a new Diamond-T 921RB for OK trucking at a dinner in Wheeling Illinois. It was a tractor with a dump tub. It had the OK black and red colors with the white lettering. Next to it was a new Mack B-61 dump tub for OK. Two of the sharpest trucks I ever saw. This was an unusual sighting I guess as OK was primarily a freight hauler
  20. Other dog I see a thread here. Butts out the window.LOL
