  1. looks great! glad them spokes are gone, looks like a west coast truck now!
  2. it wouldn't be a "B" as they wern't built until 1987 or 1988. I would guess a 160 or 180Cummins
  3. Now if the GHOST BUSTERS ever needed their car towed,.........that would be the wrecker for the JOB!!!!!!!!!!! OH almost forgot, nice score on the sign!
  4. why do you think we had cash for clunkers?...........so we would buy some new p.o.s. and then who ever wants can hack into it!
  5. glad i dont have to change carrier rollers out in the field on that thing!
  6. Hope YOUR day was a good one!
  7. if you have oil pressure on the gauge, I think Ron "nailed it" impropper cam brg. install!
  8. if i speced. a new ford it would be a copy of my 06 f350 except extended cab. and not the 6.0, not that i've had issues with it but i know they are comming. the other option would be a power window on the passanger side. i like having manual hubs and manual transfer case controls!!! (shit that dont break unless your an idiot) i would like a few more inches of ground clearance up front, so oil changes would be easer. I'm good with vinyl seats and rubber floor mats. my issue with a new one is how in the hell do you drive it off road in chest high dry grass and not panic aout the exhost temp? the old ones didnt go a bazillion degrees to clean the muffler!
  9. 60k for a half ton......ain't no way in hell! even if they filled it full of winnfall wimmin....NO! I will spend that for a tractor or something that makes me money, but not for something that will only be worth 30k in three years!
  10. how could you drive the ole girls without one? we must have one for any thing over 26,000 gvw or at least an air brake endorsment for any air brake truck.
  11. And too think our fore fathers lost it when the tax on TEA went too high!...........maybe they thought an AMMO tax would send us over the edge, and thought twice before imposing one!
  12. are you trying to make the engine brake work at idle? if so with warm oil you might not have enough oil pressure. also if they haven't been rebuilt you might want to get a maintance kit and rebuild the slave's and reseal the silonoids.(misspelled the hell out of that!)as for the valve set either check the wiki section on here or call a dealer and have them copy it for you.
  13. settlers must have been damn tough! I can't imagine sitting in a coach for 6-10 hours in a three peice suit in july or august......well maybe that was just hollywoods depiction of the 1800's
  14. I have a 1/2 ton dodge pickup that same style thats on my "to do list" used to be my grandpa's. I got it back from the neighbors scrap pile, minus the eng and trans. but the body is still really good for an ex farm rig, might become a rat rod.
  15. Paul, sorry to hear of this as well, you might try Myrtle Point Ore.97458 it was the closest town i found on the map that most likely have some more info on the incident.
  16. well when you "lead from behind" you are not in a position to see the face of danger! all you can see is some assh--e thats in front of you!
  17. mrmack what part of the world are you in? I have a buddy with a parts truck but we're out west.
  18. i blame the destruction of three discs in my lower back to the "fun" i had racing scrapers! however the trophy has to go to a guy i met in cle Elum Wa. he managed to roll a loaded terex loadrunner onto its side on flat level ground after a power slide went bad in a 45 degree corner!
  19. every orchard fieldman will be in line looking for this option! as they all pack 4 wheelers with them and load and unload multiple times a day. A built in secure system would be nice as you wouldnt have to worry as much if some one was going to steal your ramps, or if they will slip off the tailgate while in use.
  20. i have some reservations about this, i would like to see maybe a straight truck endorsment to let them get their feet wet, then after that maybe move them up. As we all know some kids have more on the ball than others. I got my cdl at the age of 19 and drove a straddle carrier hauling apples in a truck trailer configureation, but had started on the farm driving straight truck at 13 or 14 years old. I didnt pull doubles until i was 20. i was never involved in an accident, but i did get schooled a few times! like make sure their's room to turn around with doubles and when someone tells you they get trucks in their place all the time find out what they call a truck before you commit your self!
  21. poor connections / resistance! inspect and clean all connections starter, solenoid, starter ground, engine to frame ground, and battery to frame ground. If that dont do it pull the starter and check out the contacts in the end of the solenoid, also if you have them bolt on cable ends putsome good crimp on or solder on ends on the cables. be sure to inspect the cables for swollen spots, that would indicate internal cable failure.
  22. sorry about the lack of a pic. that was before camera phones! and i didnt think about recording my history at the age of 23, or i would have an awsome gallery of stuff.
  23. Ok looked it up the empty wt. of a ts-24 is 111,000 lbs. so your 63 tons would be about right. the 24 refers to how many cubic yards of materal the machine can carry which is 24 cy. they are a sight to see when "gang hitched" together, the one outfit i worked for had 3 ts-18's we would come into the cut and hitch together and shove the 1st. one into the cut, then as he was loaded the center guy would drop his can and the front and rear guy would push/pull him to get loaded, and then the last guy would drop his can and the two leads would pull you thru the cut, then unhitch and run to dump. Yardo would have slit his wrists at the sight of that much oil being flung around in one spot that wasnt labeled as an oil well!
  24. I think our snow ball is headed staight for hell! and o bummer is making sure that nothing gets in it's way!......makes you wonder what else he has planned for the next 17 months.
  25. small towns?........hell i have to go to a "city" to find one of those shit holes.....i mean wal-mart.
