  1. the e6-350's that I have ran were around 28-32 lbs. on a hard pull
  2. set a roll of duct tape on the floor and then set your drink in it. cuz if it rides like a mack that's the safest spot for anything liquid...LOL
  3. just got a new one tonight from the ups guy 150.00 for the 44 in. step but it didn't come with the two brackets to secure the steps to the strap brackets so another call to mack for more goodies!
  4. so now if you had a box car load of e-9 parts this would be the busiest page on the forum, well welcome and good luck!
  5. that trans jack will work great for changing clutches in the mack , just need to build a few brackets. good luck with the gm. I usually need two boxes of band aids when screwing with a gm product, if theirs an unfinished anything my hands will find it lol.
  6. just a little too little and to late I would say we can go 105,500 on 8 axles if bridge law is met. we have a lot of 4 axle trucks and 4 axle trailers out here! most common application is moving ocean containers and lumber and seams to be the trend in fruit hauling and livestock transport.
  7. big cam or small cam wont matter in an ag tractor, if I remember my cummins history right the large cam was developed so the cam lobes were larger to stand up to the punishment that a jake brake placed on the lobes, so unless you have hills like we do out west, the need for a engine brake probably don't factor into what you need to do. typically the cummins guys are great at helping you repower a machine with their product. be it drive couplings, mounts, oil pans, flywheels, or housings, and fuel pump and timing issues.
  8. you don't see to many asphalt boxes on that vintage of truck! and thank god it don't have the road oiler under the hood!!!!!! I should run up the road and get some mixer truck pics of the same vintage REO'S
  9. I want to see how he did the air ride steer axle! or maybe with 800 ponys you just step on the pedal and it becomes AIR RIDE!
  10. Timm , check the seal depth also. as I see the blue seal has a lot more shoulder on it than the other, also is the blue one a stemco? as most of them are to be used with a wear ring. did you make sure that the stub shaft does not still have a wear ring stuck to the seal surface? as for the machine work on the hub you could always cut the bore a little bigger then press a steel insert into the bore and then have it turned to the needed dia. that way you wouldn't have such a thin insert. just a thought ...good luck
  11. Heavy Gunner: I feel your pain ,the damn greenies her have caused most of our problems here as well OH NO COWS! AUGH NO LOGGING! well now we just say WATCH IT FRICKING BURN........YOU DUMB ASS!!!!!! and may a mud slide bury your ASS that is if your house didn't burn up already!
  12. does the a/c system have a charge in it? if not you may need to jumper the low pressure sw in order to run the comp. to fill the system.
  13. check the power divider, but first check your tire size! if mismatched heigth it can cause the power dividerto try and engage.
  14. would any body like a liberal democratic county? our state has one to give away! the rest of the state would be happy to see King County leave the evergreen state ..........oops I met the once green state.
  15. when using that wonder fuel try to avoid sun light and I run the carb out of fuel on machines that dont get used often.
  16. you could even drive it out west now!............LOL. looks great!
  17. failed cam bearing? can you put a presssurized oil supply into an oil galley port and then look for excessive leakage?
  18. SIPWLKR: we have them, but the state dont like to pay for them! also a u-blade just makes a hell of a mess that has to be cleaned up later. we run mostly d-6 and smaller dozers with 6 way blades, they are faster to move point to point and we can turn the transport around easy, tractors, jeeps, lowboys, and boosters not so much. In the right conditions I would love to sit on a 8-9 sized machine and push line. In heavy timber we use feller bunchers to cut a wide line and then use smaller dozers to grub out between the stumps. guys have also built dozerengines a dozer with the ability to pack and pump water in remote areas that one ton brush trucks cant reach. others take grapple skidders and either remove the grapple and install a water tank n pump, or simply pack a round tank in the grapples. the term for these are skidgines.
  19. my superliner is a 89 and has check ball style vents and breather hose on each tank. Cutter bees had plugged the vent hoses and caused me to run out of fuel as well. after cleaning the hoses and valves no more problems. I would say that if the tanks are holding pressure overnight you have a vent issue! but as mentioned in other posts it may not be the only issue you have.
  20. we had several places that reported looting during the fires when a level 3 e-vac was called for. Then I also heard of a unofficial report that some looters were shot by land owners, have not heard of any more looting problems!
  21. getting a few lightning strikes to the north of me now, some in the U.S. some in B.C. looks like some rain to go with, so likely to have some sleeper fires to deal with in a day or so.
  22. Carlot: My imiadiate area is most likely safe, I live in a green belt here in the valley, flying sparks and burning debris is a concern for us as it might land in a hay stack or blow inside of an open building. A bad senareo for us would be continuied strong south winds. or the loss of power that would affect out irrigation abilitys.
  23. spent yesterday changing out tracks on a d5h started about 2pm (after our parts run to western washingtion 5 hr each way) finished up at 9:30 last night new chain and pads had to cut down some lgp pads as they didnt have enough 20" pads in stock to finish the job. while waiting for our parts runner to show up I fixed a few items neurtral start, back up alarm, serviced machine, and welded patches on the thin spots in the blade corners. This machine had been on the fire lines for 14 days stright working 16hr. shifts, it was time for some tlc. its back out again this morning punching fire line.
  24. thanks for the offer, but we really need flying tanks!and the weather to fly them in!!!
  25. tell Mike if he dont straighten up a few of us will come visit! and leave a mess like last time! Honestly get well Mike! Rob.
