  1. lift axles became popular starting in the late 80's. Those puget sound trucks didnt run in my neck of the woods often so i cant say when i can remember seeing them change to 4th. axle trucks
  2. Foward to Hillary?......hell that's probably her campain fund raising mob that sent the message, as I think anyone who would vote for her, would fall for such B.S.
  3. Sure you guys are drinking beer and harassing the nuns , and ive been fighting a wild fire! .........I hope it RAINS on your parade
  4. somebody will have to step up and drink my beer allotment of coors light as i cant be in too places at once!.... oh and please post pics of the meeting room assets so I can participate in the evaluation of said assets! Thanks: Gearhead.
  5. I think the valueliner badge had several variation's, the one i used to drive looked like a R with a diffrent hood and front fenders and grill with superliner style fuel tanks. Ive been told they were a lighter truck with aluminum crossmembers and other light weight options, but i dont remember the one i drove having them. i can tell you a value liner hood is one tuff hood i seen a valueliner rearend a pup trailer and smash the crap out of the cab and not even do 200.00 bucks damage to the hood! the valueliner hood was reinforced with hard wood inserts in the fiberglass.
  6. the distrubing part for me was she was in Spokane........ i would expect that type of nonsince from the Seattle area dwellers, but not Spokane. It used to be those of us on this side of the hill were too busy making a living to worry about what color we thought we were and just went with what we saw in the mirrior............maybe thats where the confusion comes from because most of us are white in the am, and black by the pm.
  7. the ole binder looks good! Ive always liked that body style, I too vote for the silver bumper......but its your truck so do what you like!
  8. Well boys sorry to hear the forcast is wet .......... but better you than me!, i will be harvesting cherries, and they dont do rain well!
  9. take the truck to a shop air supply, then remove the discharge line from the compressor and adapt it to shop air and check for leaks, if system checks out then check out compressor. remeber to chock the wheels and release the brakes as you could also have a bad air can causing a leak,
  10. nice r model! like to see them working trucks well kept!...........welcome to the dog house
  11. I'm going with two trips and a WIDE LOAD sign! thanks for the road trip! all i've been seeing is cherry trees and hay fields.
  12. marking pen for livestock tags should do the trick as well
  13. puts a new meaning to the word "GRINDSTONE"
  14. i'm guessing the state needs to make up some budget deficet , so between citations and the hotel motel tax they will close the gap by citing drivers!
  15. and i thought mine was rough when i got it......but that one is a back yard remodeled gem!
  16. I had that chat with one of our school board members who happens to have a daughter teaching in our school, any way i asked him for the 1086hrs a year worked by our teachers why they needed a pay raise as he was pushing for. the avg. yearly wage is 42,000 the high end for senior teachers is 90,000+ so with a little quick math i asked him what other jobs pay 38.00 bucks an hour in our county he paused for a moment and said very damn few, then i asked how many people in our county work 6 months a year and make 38.00 bucks an hour and i left him speachless!.....he paused and said i'm going to have to reconsider my position on this issue, i just shook my head and walked away 25.00 bucks an hour in our county is considered a top wage
  17. the clutch pedal can be a optional sw. the fuel pump sw. can be external or internal, the internal one can fail ( the little toggel strip can break off) If its being a pain to fix just get a jacobs floor mount switch that is foot activated and mount it to the right of the throttle pedal, that way its only usable when your foot is off the fuel, you can bypass the pump sw, and go right to the heads, i would still use the dash sw. to control power to the foot pedal.
  18. Hmmmm. in thirty years of on again off again driving i cant say i have ever had to or needed to parallel park a truck and trailer, now blind side a trailer around a building or other obstruction was dang near a daily requirement!........Must be a common core test!!!!!
  19. Follow the linkage to the fuel pump, there you will find the switch. quite often the sw. or lever is out of adjustment. the curcit is eng.brake sw. to clutch ped. to injection pump sw. to front and rear cyl. head
  20. you might also try a ' TEMP STICK" you can get them at a welding supply store diffrent sticks for diffrent temp ranges you could mark the ports with it then run a short distance and see what, if any differance their is.the temp sticks are made of a wax like materal and melt at different temps so this might be easer than trying to hit the ports with a laser temp gun, as soon as you throw the hood you can see if their is a notable differance. just a thought.
  21. kinda like common core .... just teach to the test! and all will be well!...... dont bother teaching any real world skills........must be like the old saying" those who cant do it themselfs .... teach"
  22. RESPECT! .... thats whats missing in damn near every community and every trade, respect for your fellow man, respect for your job and respect for life! That said, you also have to earn RESPECT! and its not done by presenting yourself as a retired slob, dirty sweaty and greasy is just fine with me if you got it on you in the last 24 hours!........ the last 24 days is unexceptable. These slobs climbing out of a truck looking like a troll, doesn't do anybody any good . Drivers used to be considered stewards of the hwy..... now their viewed as a hazmat spill waiting to happen
  23. the 1.00 a can stuff from walmart works just fine! 20.00 bucks worth will do a set of drive axles of 10 hole budds, i only primed areas that had metal or rusty areas showing and thats been 3 years ago and they still look good! if you wanted you could clear over the paint for extra protection.
  24. Vin, better find an old honda 90 or 110 kick stand ! they would keep them from falling over in either direction looking good ! now that schools out you should be able to get after that cab
  25. i think most of them had uniforms! but when they wore them they had to ask " DO YOU WANT FRYS WITH THAT " or " WOULD YOU LIKE TO SUPERSIZE YOU ORDER TODAY?" Just my thoughts on this whole deal! Swift= Sure Wished I Finished Training or as i like to refer to them as " NOT SO" as in not so swift! I 90 out here is full of them, and i try my hardest to keep the superliner far, far away from them.
